Garmin talk

Hello again. I've been gone awhile and had puter cleared. Now Garmin Xpress and Updater download but do not install. Hitting the exe. does nothing. What's up? My passwords or email do not work.

I have two NUVI's, an old 750 and a newer 3597. I have been using the cloning method to get the whole NA map on my 750 and it has worked flawlessly. Seems to download and install a lot faster too.

My nuvi 775T came with a GTM-21 traffic receiver.
I have always received FM TMC traffic in the Toronto, Ontario area on my 775T.
Recently it stopped to show traffic information and the little traffic icon on the map screen.
Clicking: Tools > Setting > Traffic > it shows Navteg (US, CAN) Lifetime Subscription.

Lately I have noticed that my Nuvicam and Nuvi 3597 show only exit number as next exit instead of street name. I don't know why Garmin made this change? Street name is lot easier because you know what is your exit but exit number does not give you much information.

Hello everyone. Firstly I have looked for an answer but have had no luck so I am now asking for some advice/help. Garmin wont reply so my next step is here with the experts. I have a Garmin 2797lmt with all the maps pf Europe as I am in Europe. My unit after my last update now states that my internal memory is full.

I use my nuvi on a daily basis. While traveling to my destination (already inputted address into nuvi), it locked up/froze.

It was warm to the touch and the last map image was still on the screen. Pressing the power button for several seconds did nothing.

I tried again about 15 minutes later and was able to power it down. It has behaved normally since the event (yesterday morning).

How do I load my favorites into my new nuvi? MapSource doesn't recognize it and I don't see an option to restore my favorites in Garmin Express.

It appears that my new nuvi requires Garmin Express to register. I'm a bit scared to install GE because of all of the negative posts about it. Will I still be able to use Web Updater, POI Loader, and MapSource if I install GE?

Plugged in my 1450 for GE and a window popped up stating
'Do you want to scan and fix removable disc (M)?. There might be a problem with some files on this device or disc.'

Is there a way to change the Category name without recreate it?

On a road trip to Pennsylvania, Garmin Express came on- NOT ON MY COMPUTER but on my nuvi 40. The GPS wouldn't work right because of Garmin Express. I deleted Garmin Express on the computer, but I doubt that does naything. What should I do?

Had a 2595 I believe it was LMT that I passed to my brother. His daughter has been using it and recently I was told it doesn't turn off when she turns off the car. It used to but now it seems it just stays on until the battery drains down.

I just purchased a Garmin Nuvi 2798 to upgrade my ancient Nuvi 660. I used the trip planner to plan a trip to NC for the holidays. I want to use the same route back home. I didn't see anyway to reverse the trip.

The only thing I see that may work is to optimize the waypoints to reverse the order. If anyone know of the correct way to do this I thank you in advance for that info.

I just downloaded Vito's "Rest Areas combined" POI file and noticed two differences between the "old" and "new" copies. I'm not saying the differences are good or bad, they're just different. And by the way, Vito, thanks for taking over a tough POI from Ken. I can't even imagine all the work it must take.

While I wait for a communication to arrive, want to ask if this can be done....

A POI that I use, reports a location to be blocks from where it really is, and since the POI location is set back from the street it's really easy to miss it. I'd like to fix this... at least temporarily, until I can report this to the POI Writer.

Not much in this version of interest to nuvi owners.

Several Gurus around here recommend doing a hard reset after having done a map and or firmware update & personally I follow this suggestion.

I have a little over a dozen routes stored in my trip planner and noticed after the 2016.10 update followed by the hard reset that the unit would route me several different ways than what was previously programmed.

My Garmin RV 760 has a screen capture function. Is anybody using this function and if you are for what purpose?

I have a problem with my Nuvi 755T. I purchased the China map set from Garmin and loaded it. Problem is that it takes too much memory and the next CitySelect update would no longer fit in the memory so I had to add an SD card. Now the City select updates are so big that the memory card only takes the Southern US and Mexico.
