Nuvi shows next exit only exit number

I completed a 1000+ mile trip on I-81 from Scranton PA. to southern Virginia and back 2 weeks ago using my 3597. While navigating a route with the “Next Turn” screen displayed, both upcoming exit numbers and street names were shown. I didn’t notice if this was true on the next turn banner at the top center of the map page though. I also haven't checked if this condition exists on the map page when not navigating.

The 3597 was recently updated to the latest firmware and has the CNNT 2016.2 map set installed. Could your experience be localized? Does it occur while navigating a route?

I just tried a simulated route on an Interstate on my 3597 and the top bar displays the distance to the exit in the top left corner, then the the exit number beside it and to the right, the name of the exit which in this case the the route number that the exit would take me to. Is this different than what you are seeing?

Sorry let me clarify, it happens while navigating and on highways (Freeways).
I am Toronto Canada and most of the times it just shows next exit as exit number only. Yesterday I started from London Ontario to my house in Brampton Ontario. It showed my next exit from Highway 401 east was exit number 390B ( I think the number is correct), at this time I had no clue what street is 390B? I reached near then I came to know it was highway 407 East. It is not always but happens many times that it just shows exit number only as the next exit from highways in Canada.
I drove in US (Arizon, Navada and California) in last August ans September and did not see this issue.

I just picked a point west of the Brampton exit (330B) on Hwy 401 and simulated the route to Brampton. It indeed does show only the exit number. In this case it also put me on Hwy 407 and then showed the next exit with a street name. I can only speculate why exit 330B doesn't display the route/street name. At least we know that your nuvi is not at fault, this just seems to be a glitch in the map routing display for that exit. I suspect there may be other locations where this happens and we often don't notice. A note to Garmin might get this fixed in a later update.

Thanks for verifying the issue. Now I have realized that it is happening on hwy 407 exits only. Whenever Nuvi takes me to 407, it is always exit numbers and no street name. May be I should report it to Garmin

Nobody that responded has mentioned that they have a Nuvicam as well.

Could be the that software for the addition of the Nuvicam changed some things. Maybe something in the screen display has changed.

I think a call to Garmin support or maybe a post on the Garmin site might supply an answer.

I have a 3597 as well and have never seen this. But then again, I don't have a Nuvicam.

Maybe I misunderstand your point metricman, but I can't see how owning a nuvicam would change the operation of a 3597? AFAIK, there is no shared software between the two GPS devices.

It has nothing to do with Nuvicam and 3597 units. Now I have realized that the this problem is only on hwy 407 in Toronto area. If you navigate from west for example London or Hamilton and your Nuvi takes you on toll highway 407, you will notice the problem. Looks like it happening only on highway 407 where only exit numbers are shown.
