I'd like to upgrade from my Nuvi 1490LMT. I've seen some excellent pricing on factory refurbished Nuvi 2599LMT and 2699LMT.

Looking for comments / advice on these units...I know difference between two models is the screen size 5 vs 6".

I recently asked this forum about using a USB port in my car to power and charge my Nuvi. I received the following from Garmin support. It seems like the definitive answer from the source and I thought it might help others.

I have a Nuvi52lm and I have two and one half questions:

1. Is it possible to charge or power this unit with the included USB cord in my car. My car has a USB port that I power my iPhone with; is it possible to do the same to the Nuvi?

I know that the Garmin DriveLuxe 50LMTHD isn't available just yet, but I am starting to get interested in it. I currently have a Garmin Nuvi 3597. One of the first questions in my mind is how the two differ from one another. GPS City has a post that answers that very question.

Is anybody here planning on getting one? If so, what features interest you?

trying to put the new paula deen family restaurant in my garmin but it doesn't find it by restaurants or specific address . its 131 the island dr suite #8101 pigeon forge tn 37863 . what could I be doing wrong ?

I have been loading my custom points into my Nuvi 2595 since I first owned it and I was able to import any of these points into a route.

Received an email from Garmin 30 minutes ago that said my RMA replacement is on the way and listed a tracking number. Hmm, that's interesting because I don't have any open RMAs. Looked at the tracking info and see it was for my RMA back in August. Wonder if anyone else got bogus RMA emails. This is what I call a proactive company

I am asking the members here who might have found a solution, I searched but could not find it. I have a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (rag top) so naturally with the top down Garmin is tough to impossible to hear.

After loading the new update(about 2 months ago) my Nuvi50 on View Map mode shows only main streets and Hwys.I tried everything on Settings but can't make it work like before.Any ideas what could be wrong ???

Changes made from version 4.6.2 to 4.6.3:
Fixed crash when zooming into raster maps.
Fixed crash when loading a track with sporadic elevation data.

With addresses formatted like, 145 State Highway 82, Anytown, Anystate, USA

It truly failed us on Sat., could not get to our destination. Map was updated maybe 2 wks ago, and the destination has been there over 50 years.

Used my android to google the establishment, then navigated there with google maps without issue. I don't get it...

I'm running tight on hard drive space on my laptop and have been reviewing which programs have the largest amount of data.

I have discovered a set of sub folders under the following and I'm wondering if some of this can be safely deleted.

C:/Program Data/Garmin/Core Services/Downloads/Map

Under this sub folder, there are three additional folders designated as:
/Map_Map.NA.2015.40

Well, I just tried updating my North American maps on my Garmin Nuvi 2797 using Mapinstall and I get the message "No unlocked maps were found for this device".

The latest NA maps are already installed on my computer and on the 2797, but I wanted to see if I knew how to go through the procedure anyway. I recently updated those maps and I have a lifetime update that came with the Nuvi 2797.

Is it time to start the thread for the 2017.2 maps yet?

New update this morning ....... Ran smoothly.

Just bought a Garmin 2597. I copied my favorites over from old 205w. The problem is I have so many favorites you can't see the map sometimes when navigating or read street signs when driving or zooming out. Tried to turn off whats up ahead through map tools and map layers. When you are in the map layer setting, the favorites disappear from the little map, but they still show up on the big map.

I own a Garmin Nuvi 650 and a Nuvi 2797.

I have two questions:

This morning I found new update for Garmin Smartphone Link app for IOS. It has been updated to version 2.1.0. They added support for Zumo 595 Live Track. Bug fixes and improvements...

Nothing major unless you have Zumo 595.

I'm drawing a blank here. I just a Nuvi 770 and it has those hideous large green Heart icons for Favorites on the map. Annoying. I have Nuvi 760 and a Nuvi 2597 and neither one has those icons. I found the spot to Edit and change the map symbol, but the only choices are more hideous green ones.

I have a Garmin 770 and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have installed other truckstop poi's with their appropriate .bmp file and I know they have to match in name. However, when it comes to Love's I fail. Any suggestions?
