Garmin talk

Anyone else with a 765T past or current have issues with the unit staying powered on? Mine will power up, get through the load screen just fine then gets to the main "where to" screen then passes out, goes dark. It powers itself off and won't stay on for more than 15 seconds. I have tried to contact Garmin about it but they aren't much help.

Anyone else have an issue with the Voice Command firing up for no good reason? Sometimes, not often, the Voice Command just comes on...happens with the music on and off...my start command is the default "Voice Command" any ideas?

When I plug my Garmin 855 into my laptop it automatically starts the Garmin Express program. In this program there is a Device storage tab that tells me my device memory is 95% full. Is there a way to delete unused files from the internal storage? How can I tell which files to delete? Do I need to delete files from the internal memory if I use a memory card?

I finally got over my fear of using Garmin Express and I installed ver. 4.0.23.0 last night and downloaded 2015.4 to my NUVI2555LMT without a hitch.

In the past, when I used Map Updater, I had the option of loading the maps to my computer, my device or both. I always used Both. That allowed me to have the map available for use with Basecamp.

Does anyone know if the Clearwater traffic subscription is still operational?

How can you tell if your GPS is being charged when hooked up to a computer? It shows the picture of a GPS hooked up to a computer. I know if I am using it that will take a long time to charge but I'm not using the unit while plugged in. Has been plugged in for a couple of hours and when I disconnect, it's still at 2 bars.

Just got this huge GPS and all seems well (except for Herculean effort required to insert ball in socket and user manual that fails to show where the microSD card goes).

HOWEVER ... My trust POI collection seems to have transferred over fine. My icons for speed and red-light cameras are there. But the proximity alert is the Garmin bong, not my carefully curated wisecracks.

Member CraigW wrote the following FAQ http://www.poi-factory.com/node/44415 warning us all that when using the Map Updater program it may either delete or rename incorrectly the DEM map file in the process.

Being a Map Updater fan & for having used it many times in the past, I will be calling Garmin support and advising them of this bug and do hope it'll be fixed for the 2016.10 release.

With my other Garmins, if I wanted to located all POIs near a location, I would enter a destination, then do a search near destination, BUT leave it blank when I did the search. That would find a number of POIs near my destination. I found that to be quite handy. On my Nuvi 3597, however, I have been unable to find a way to do that.

I picked up Nuvicam few days ago and ran into bluetooth issues with iPhone 6. I have heard it was a known issue with iPhone 6 or IOS 8.x.
I connected with my iPhone 6 for few minutes then Messages pops up on Nuvi screen "IOS service disconnected... your iPhone got disconnected."

It is not stable at all. I will appreciate any feed back on this issue.

Is there any way I can stop my Camper 760 doing a BOING every time the speed limit changes (up or down).

I've looked through all (I think) of the settings but I can't stop it.

I decided to try and create a route with basecamp and then load it to my Garmin. Everything went fine doing that. I decided to run a simulation of the route. Everything was fine except I noticed that JCV wasn't working with the basecamp route. Anyone else experience this? I think I had this problem last year when doing the same thing, so I just had to create a route within my Garmin.

Trying to find out the JCV file name for the Nuvi 50 Garmin City Navigator North America NT 2016.10 map.

Can someone explain how these files are named and if possible this jcv location at Garmin.
