Alright, about to take a chance on Live Traffic as most have reported good and improved traffic info. Just wondering if anyone has seen it go on sale and when.

Once I see the POI file available on this web site how to do download it to my Garmin NUVI2589? All that seems to be available is a .csv spreadsheet file for Garmin users. Please help this newby. Ian

Has anyone here installed Basecamp and used it successfully on a Linus OS? ...or other software provided by Garmin and what has been your experience? Inquiring minds need to know. I'm thinking of pitching Windows 10 and switching to Linux.

I have had to reinstall Basecamp and I have the map littered with "Airport" icons. Please, how do I turn them off??

Seems remotely possible to use BT connection to feed Waze traffic info to Nuvi ... though I realize bluetooth is pairwise and I'd really prefer to keep my phone paired with my car for hand-free conversation. But maybe a second/passenger phone?

I updated my Garmin Nuvi 500 today. It said that the memory only had room for a portion of the US, so I selected states nearest me. When I check the device, it shows that I have an optional 4 GB microSD card installed, but none of it was used. I would like to use the 4 GB microSD card and install all of the lower 49 states. How do I do that so it uses the optional memory card?

I recently replaced the original radio in my car with a Kenwood 992, in part because I wanted to have Garmin nav while removing the dashboard/windshield/etc mounting. My 2450 with lifetime maps found a new home in my wife's car.

So far, it has met my needs, but now we are planning a two-week, mostly sight-seeing, trip which will not be a daily Point A to Point B routing.

I am just wondering how many people here use the Text To Speech functionality on their Garmin Nuvi 3597 or other navigator or devices. I spend some time with my wife's cousin recently and he is a big fan of using text to speech on his Android phone. I really had not been all that impressed in the past with Text To Speech, but it appears as if it has improved significantly since I last used it.

The tutorial evolved from a class agenda from which he's taught a number of BaseCamp haters to use the program in a few hours. This tutorial is very useful for anyone new to BaseCamp or struggling with it, and will get you past the steep learning curve so many folks seem to experience.

Just upgraded from my Nuvi 660 to the Nuvi 2699. I am planning a long trip from Arizona back east next summer and would like to make sure I know where the toll roads are and if/when I need to use EZ Pass. I haven't bought an EZ Pass yet - can't figure out exactly what state I should buy from.

I just bought a new Nissan Rogue that came with a built in GPS (Nissan Navigation System). I think the salesman said it is by Navteq. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer my Garmin favorites to the new car?

My family and I are on vacation currently in North Carolina. At the moment, I am letting my oldest son,who is 19, and my wife sele t where they want to go, as well as drive and navigate there. My wife selected something on Google maps and directed my son. The Google map was incorrect and now they are back to Garmin CN.

For the first time the Live Traffic let me down. I was heading from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg via the Turnpike last Wednesday and was getting some inconsistent warnings about the Turnpike being closed. After I passed the Somerset exit, I stopped in the fuel plaza for a quick fill-up and by the time I tried to exit the road was closed. Live Traffic didn't have the closure yet.

Is it just me or do a lot of the retail outlets still sell the old versions of the Garmins? I feel like it used to be that the new ones came out and the old ones disappeared but now, a year after the new line came out, best buy and other stores are still selling models that are a few years old!

If Garmin were to ever produce an Android based automobile navigator, what apps would you use with it?

Trying to save a .wav file that I want to create in the Text to Speech program but having some difficulty understanding how to save it to my computer.
