Garmin talk

I have a nuvi 650 for a few weesks, the small problem is the voice on TTS is stuttering. Thought because of firmware. Check to see it is 4.20. Any ideals

i have a really dump question. currently my c330 software version is 4.40. I was searching online through garmins website and there is a version 5.7 out there right now. Im using garmins webupdater. and it says that my unit is up to date but im seeing a version 5.7 on the garmin website.

This was the first time I've used my 660 in an airliner and I noticed that when I had it in off road mode for "as the crow flies" navigation, the magenta "vector" didn't do what I expected. Normally, with the ground and aviation GPSrs I've used, the "tail" of the vector remains "rubber banded" to the vehicle (i.e. aircraft) when a "direct to" type waypoint (destination) is selected.

I have a Garmin C530 GPSr. Today I set up a trip that's a little over 2000 miles (Cleveland, Ohio area to Tucson, Arizona area). It calculated the trip just fine (as far as I know) but the Arrival display in the bottom left hand corner didn't display the estimated time of arrival.
If I define a trip from Ohio to Florida (1245 miles, but in the same time zone), the ETA does display.

at one point i am asked for the pc's directory in POI setup
i have't a clue
can anyone help me to find the directory in my dell desktop ?

Newbie needs help

Just posting to say thanks for all the information received thus far. I got a Nuvi 370 for Christmas (I wanted the European maps) and I've been customizing it since then. Of course, since I've been felled by the flu, I haven't actually driven anywhere, but that will come soon. In the meantime, I'm still looking for cooler vehicle icons and can't believe I don't have a lot of MP3s.

I just want to post my appreciation of everyone here in the Garmin Talk forum.

As a brand new GPS owner and user, the documentation that came with my Nüvi 260 was woefully inadequate. This site has gotten me started on the right path, shown me many undocumented features, and guided me through the use of the POI Loader.

Why does my nuvi 250 give me wrong max speed? Right now it claims I was going 197 mph.

I am wondering a few things about my new Garmin 260.
1. Can you load a trip into with multiple stops?
2. Can I do this via latpop and upload it to the handheld.
3. Can I change the voice, or download more voices.

I recently got a Nuvi 650 and would like to add a list wineries within the state. I know it has some built in, and maybe all. But I'd like to make sure and this will be used for other things going forward as well.

First off, I am very glad to have found this site. It has been a great source of info and POI files.

I know that my question might not fit on a POI site, but I wanted to throw this out to folks who are very knowledgable about GPS sites.

I bought my c330 while I was living in Portugal...and now, moved to Spain, I cannot find the original box with the damned code to be able to update it. any sugeestions??? (Garmin is asking me to talk to the shop who sold it to me....great! I do not speak Portuguese...and it was a wallmart...)

Hello everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I just wanted to ask, I'm a newb, to see if you all thought I'd be eligable for at leaste a discount on map updates for both my units. I bought a c330 and a c530 in Nov. of 07. They are regestered and need the update. I just sent an oppropriatelly written email to Garmin with a request for a discount.

Problem POI Loader

The Nuvi 200, my first GPS, is performing really well, I am quite pleased. One oddity, my own house is on the wrong side of the street. If coming down my street it incorrectly informs me that I am arriving at my destination "on right". If I come up the street from the opposite direction it says "of left". I initially obtained my location by punching in the street number and address.

I am trying to get an audiobook (MP3 format) to play in my new Nuvi 650, but the chapters come out randomly.

Using POI-Loader, the audiobook will show up (and I can play it) on the 650, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which little MP3 file (there's over 160 in the book!) it will play in which order. How do I sort them and get them to play ?

When updating my POI files from my POI folder, does it add the files in only once or does it keep adding the files each time? Should I delete the files once I put them on my GPS? Will they take up a lot of space on my GPS?

I just recently got a Garmin Nuvi 360 and it is able to communicate perfectly with my Motorola 551 cellphone. However at times when I restart the Nuvi it goes into this loop showing a "Phone Disconnected" popup every 30 seconds. I suppose it is trying to establish connection with my cell.

To get rid of the message I need to shutdown and restart my cell phone !
