Garmin talk

Hello,

The mp3 player in my nuvi 680 does not have a stop button. I see all the other buttons but the stop is missing! The manual shows the button but it doesn't show on my screen!

How do I stop the mp3 player from playing a song if I want to stop it midway through the song other than turning of the Nuvi?

My wife recently got me a Nuvi 750 for my Father's Day gift (early...ha ha).

However, we have been talking about getting a new minivan with a navigational system. However, we discussed with the agent and the cost of getting a new van with/without nav system was incredible.

How do these units compare? I just bought the 760 and have the 660. I love the multiple routes but a lot of other things I am not liking.

The screen on the 760 does not seem as clear.
The latency on the 760 seems more.
It seems like I have passed a street before it shows on me passing on the 760.

I have been searching for Fuelman POI but i only found Louisiana. Where can I get these POI?

I know there is an article on this website on how to use icons with poi's but I can't seem to get it to work. I have a 530. I have all my icons and poi's in one folder in my computer. I renamed the .bmp to match the .csv. The poi's work but not the icon. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks

I currently have the TMC traffic with the Nuvi 760 and have a few questions.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 260W, and a 2GB SD card. I do not know how to inbsert the SD card. I am fearful of pushing it in, and then finding that it was not properly inserted. I hope someone can describe how I should insert the card. Thanks

Has anyone loaded topgraphic maps to their Nuvi? I have a 660. Can the topo map be removed or does it stay forever?

Can anyone tell me if there is a way I can download map updates for Garmin C330. The only thing I could find was the Garmin site which charges $69.00.

OK so i created a route on Harley Davidson's ride planner and downloaded to my nuvi 660. Question is how do i pull it up so that my gps can help me follow it ?

I must say that Garmin makes a great product. Not long after I purchased a nuvi 750 I walked into a closed patio door and dropped the unit to a hard tile floor. I was shocked, not at hitting the door but, at the 750 hitting the floor. I assumed it was dead. To my surprise it worked perfectly and didn't have a scratch on it. I must confess I kissed it a couple of times.

I have a Garmin 260 which does not allow importing routes from Mapsource. Would there be any difference if I was to pay the $20 per year for Google Earth Plus which has a GSP output function?

While installing maps to a SD card using MapSource I noticed that if you installed Brazil on a SD card and then later installed Mexico on the same card, it was like a poi and over-wrote the previously installed map.

Updated to 2009 on my 660 yesterday, went fine, but I noticed something peculiar.

In playing around with my Nuvi750 I found what might be called a quirk.

If you save your Custom POIs to your Nuvi Drive they will be located at X:\Garmin/Poi\poi.gpi

HELP!!! Does anyone know where I can get POI's for Arco Gas in CA, Az,and NV. I have an icon and MP3 file, but now I need the POI file. I could also use the POI files for the Dollar Store and Rubio's Mexican Grill. Thanks.

I assume that the nuvi 200 is capable of putting down a track log. I see now there is a way to enable this:

Is there a way to do the bread-crumb thing with the Software version 4.10? (running the new 09 map update if that matters)

Does anyone know if a remote Antena is available for the Garmin 660

Am looking at buying a 705 since i now know my 350 will not accept gpx files for routes. i need to do some more work but i assume the 705 does accept gpx files and display routes?

I want to use the nuvi 350 to display some bicyle routes. i downloaded the gpx file two different ways - directly to the unit and also to the media card. i can see the file on the card via windows explorer. but on the unit, all i can get is directions to the start of the bike ride, not the route itself.
