Best Route

When driving from San Jose to San Francisco there are two routes 101 and 280. I prefer 280, but I am always routed via 101, even when 280 is faster. Google also routes me via 101, its like 280 does not exist. Does anyone have simuler problems? Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

foutes

The maps might not be up to date with the route.

I would check under setting the wrench at bottom of the screen and see what avoidances you have checked that may cause the problem.

Happens all the time

If you prefer 280 just take it. The gpsr will correct. It can get annoying.

the best solution......

is to use your best judgment since you are already familiar with your route, why bother with the directions from the gps?? Just go the way you want to....the gps will adjust and eventually route the new way. Remember that the gps is not the "absolute". Always more than one way to go from point A to point B. smile

Force a different route

Another strategy you might consider is to choose a "via" point somewhere along 280 that would force the GPSr to calculate that route. As you pass the via point, the final destination would kick in and keep you on 280.
