Garmin talk

On my Nuvi 780 it leaves a blue line to show the route that you've already driven. But it never goes away. Is there a way to clear that?

I got a nuvi 200w 2 weeks ago. And I've always wondered why the need for custom POIs when my unit came with 6 million? Well, my question was answered twice this past weekend on my first long trip with it going from Ohio to Tennessee.

I have a Nuvi 650. Is there a way to map routes on my computer and download onto the Nuvi for future use.

When I load the red light camera file onto my Garmins, is there anything special I need to do for it to automatically warn me? Is this different from a normal POI file?

The Zumo 450 only comes with a mount for a motorcycle. Perhaps someone knows which mount to purchase would provide car windshield mount? I want to use this in my car too. There are several car mounts for cars to use with a zumo 450 and with a wide range of prices. The price range is significant and it is confusing.

Is there a expire date to recieve the free 2009 map update. Wife got me a Zumo 450, but I won't get to see it for another couple weeks. I heard on a motorcycle forum that the free update ends either July or August. Is this true?

What else can they add to these units??

Does anyone have suggestions for useful Nuvi 250W add-on items for the Europe mapset? Particularly Ireland, UK, France and Italy.

A comment was made in one of the other threads mentioning that it isn't possible to organize your Mp3 collection in different folders on the Garmin nuvis, nor is it possible to create a playlist containing songs that are located in different folders. Well...because I can't stand to have thousands of files from different artists all in the same folder, I set out to find a way to do it!

I'm using Garmin XT on my handphone and loaded a POI .csv file from this site with Garmin POI loader. The csv file has 4 columns with the coordinates, name and address.

When I lookup the POI on the handphone, the address which is the fourth column are missing. Has anyone faced this problem before? What can be done? Thanks!

I just returned from a trip and was able to use my 780 on the plane during a cross country trip. Everything worked great during the flights, but for some reason I am unable to view the track logs of the flights in Mapsource. I copied the Current.gpx file as usual but when I open it in Mapsource all I see are the tracks generated while driving, before and after the flights.

How do I get .bmp icons onto my Garmin NUvi 760?

I'm wondering if anyone here is using a Legend HCx (or similar models such as the Vista HCx) to navigate in their cars?

I currently have Canada Topo v2 in my receiver and find it decent, however I am eyeing City Navigator to add to it.

We are about ready to take our first long trip with our new Garmin and we will be towing a travel trailer. Any suggestions about what "vehicle" to use? I'm thinking about using the "truck" instead of a car?

Custom POIs can be put in the 350's internal memory or onto an SD card. Is there any difference in how the POIs can be used or are handled in routing if on a card instead of in internal memory? Will route alerts be sounded for card POIs? Speed alerts?

I have tried to download the traffic light and speed camera POI's in 2 files. When I use the Carmin downloading software I can get the program to download the traffic light file. When I try to download the speed cameras it is downloaded successfully.

Unfortunately one file delets the other. Can you advise me what I am doing incorrectly?

My nuvi 650 came with a DC adapter that plug's into the window mounting adapter. When the nuvi is installed on it the charging begins. The lighter adapter end of the plug broke and a dealer told me to plug a charging cord into the USB port on the side and it would charge that way. He even suggested that my phone adapter cord would work.

I wonder if garmin would send me the 2009 map for the computer thats in the nuvi 850

Anybody have an 800 series nuvi yet. they are awsome units
