Apparently Garmin is really upping the ante regarding their annual map offerings, I don't know if this applies to the incremental updates for you lifetime subscribers: (The following was copied from Garmin's website)

My first "Alert POI". I know I have to set the proximity alarm to "ON". Found something else on my GPS (danish lang.!). I am not sure thats the one I am looking for... Where do I find it?

Although I have been an amateur radio operator for a number of years, have owned scanners for over 30 years, and have had a GPS for several years, I have never really made the cross over from GPS to amateur radio or scanning. I am certainly aware of APRS in the amateur radio hobby.

I just switched to the Garmin 765T from using my laptop loaded with Delorme 2009 Travel. Having planned all my routes on the laptop, I'd like to continue programming on it and transfer the data to the Garmin. Are there options to use this combination. Thanks (What an improvement over my orig 1996 Street Pilot)

I had several different poi in my Garmin 750.. I just downloaded the Wall mart combined poi s and it wrote over them all.. That is to say now all i have is wall mart when i go to custom poi screen.. please help how can i erase the pois i just put in or

I would like to try to convert DXF or SHP maps of electric or water utilities to my NUVI 200w.

If that works well, I would look at a larger screen such as a marine gps which could be used to locate and mark buried electrical or water lines.

I think that there would be a posible problem with scale and the amount of tracks and points.

I want to use the 760 on holiday this summer, and a lot of that will be pedestrian use on city walks etc. Battery life is a concern as if we're out all day I can't see it lasting, even if I turn it off when possible. iGo have an interesting product called the PowerXtender which it says is compatible with the 760 and will recharge from 2 AA batteries.

I have used Map Source to turn my .csv POI files into .gpx files. I added custom .jpg icons for some of the entries. I went into Mapsource, selected waypoint properties. I changed the selection to image, and browsed to the image, which is stored in the JPEG folder on my GPS.

Can we use iPhone or blackberry USB chager for Garmin series GPS? I wonder if the USB charger is universal type for all kinds of handhelds like iPhone, Smartphone, Blackberry, MP4, so on. I hate to take too many power adapters and chargers with me when I travel. Man, cigarette type, wall type, laptop, Kindler reader, kill me.

I've been using the nuvi 755t with the latest 3.4 update. I've notice that while playing an MP3, the text to speech voice is beeing desactivated some times and i need to reboot the unit in order to reactivate TTS.

Have you experience similar problems. I remember reading something similar but was wondering if it was the same?

Has anyone successfully used any of FM Traffic receivers such as the GTM10,11 or 12 with a StreetPilot 2730.

Garmin does not show them as compatible. But they work on the model above (2820) and below (2720) of teh 2730.

The XM NavTraffic is just too darn expensive and next to worthless so I'd liek to try to get ClearChannel or NavTeq traffic on the 2730 if it is possible.

I loaded the ohio ham repeaters , the BMP file and a mp3 file and i am not getting any alerts i have driven through several citys and towns with repeaters listed in the file . Wonder if anyone can help me out .

I have not been uploading large amounts of POI files on the two mentioned GPS until now.
The specifications on the two GPS does not include how many POI files you can upload.

How do I find out what the icons mean in FM Traffic?
Weather it's yellow icon with .03 delay or red with .06 delay. what does all that mean?
and we just came back from our first trip with the 265T, we went from st. louis to miami and it was great. with out it i'd still be driving.

Here is my app to take the output images from your favorite 3D program, splice them together , resize them, add alpha, then send them to an SRF to send straight to the Garmin

If you have the previous GarminPNGBldr, just download GarminSRFBldr_exe.zip and replace the GarminPNGBldr.exe you have with the GarminSRFBldr.exe...

I am thinking of upgrading my garmin 750 to a garmin 265wt. Does anyone want to share your like/dislike for the 265wt?

It will help me make up my mind.

I was looking at the Garmin Nuvi 885T being shown in demo mode and watched it select pre-loaded POI's by voice recognition. However, will the voice recognition work with custom POI's that are downloaded to the SD Card. Just wondered how you would get the the Custom POI directory instead of the Pre-loaded directory.

I was reading about the Garmin Oregon 500 Series With Built In Camera. I only have a Garmin StreetPilot 2730 and Garmin Mobile XT on a Pharos GPS Phone 600, but this could prove to be an interesting feature depending on the camera quality and how well this works.
