Does anybody have any opinions on Navteq traffic vs Clear Channel traffic?
Looking to determine which service is recommended and why...

Does anyone have a way to copy the custom POI files on a C340 to your computer? I had to give my work laptop back when I was laid off (amazing eh?) and I now realize that I didn't copy all of my files off it. The C340 doesn't look like a disk drive when connected to the computer like the newer devices do which complicates matters.

Please help if you can..

I just installed 2010 update and now Mapsource has a problem communicating with the Nuvi. Can that be fixed?

I used to have a Streetpilot I3, and recently upgraded to a C330.

On the I3, I was able to select a POI and select Find Nearby which lets you search for POI's close to that POI without making the first POI a destination.

On the C330, I seem to have to make it a destination, and then I can select find nearby my destination by using the Near... button

I'm looking to update the maps on my 660. Am I able to "backup" all the current files that are in my 660 on to my PC?
In case something goes wrong with the update...then I would just reload my current maps and data...
Also, when I upgrade, will my FAVORITES still be intact?

I have Eurpean map on a SD card. Do I need set up the GPS in anyway before I go or after I arrive? Download satellite locations, reset default locations, etc?

I downloaded the GPS file from the Flying-J website. When I want to load it to the Nuvi there is a message something like invalid file or so. How can that be done?

As others have noted relative to the 2010.1 update, Mapsource gets updated to 6.15.5.

Since Garmin still hasn't posted this update on their site, I'm wondering what the difference is. It could be my imagination, but it does seem to operate a bit faster than 6.15.4.

765t suddenly cannot locate satellites. Everything else seems okay. Turns on fine. I have not suddenly moved to an area with poor reception. The unit worked fine before.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've read about the feature and drive my own car for work, anywhere from 100 to 250 miles a day. If this could save me some gas I might be interested, but it mentions the 205 but not the 200 in the Garmin website.

i just bought lifetime maps and went to download it to my 580, but it says product already registerd to someone else,after trying for a couple of hours i finally figured out that apparently way back when i got my 580 i registered it under a different username and forgot,is there anyway to get maps and gps together--thanks for any help --tedseed10

Is it possible to edit POI files that are pre-installed on Nuvi 255W ?
For example, there was a retail food chain store that have gone out of business and there is a new store in place at the same location with New Name but my Nuvi still showes the Old Store at that location.

I saw a link in here the other day about how to download map source. The link suggested that you open it up through the directory to make it work. I did all of that. Any reason why anyone thinks it doesn't work? It says there is no map info on my computer or something like that. So do I basically have to buy new software or get the DVD to be able to use map source?

Several days ago someone posted with how to list the local stations being used by a traffic receiver. I cannot seem to find it again. Will someone help point me in the right direction? TIA

If I plan a route from say Phoenix, AZ to Indio, CA; Road Trip gives me a route as if I were flying in an airplane. It doesn't follow any roads? Do I have to drag the route to the roads, time consuming!
Or is a preference in the Road Trip application that I missed?

Can someone advise how to delete addresses from the "recently found" folder.. can you delete individual addresses or do you have to delete all of them.. also, how do you save an address in your "favorites"? Thanks

Has anyone noticed that the wait time for Garmin tech support is getting longer? Or is it my imagination?

About a year ago, I could call at 8 am central time and get right through, then transfered quickly to another specialist. The last couple of times I tried at 8 am central, I had to wait 10-15 minutes, then be transferred and wait another 30 minutes or more.

Nuvi 750----Anyone know the size of the mem for storing data points (waypoints)before it rolls over ? That is, either the number of points it can store or memory size in bytes.(MB)

I know I've read several posts from time to time where some of you have taken your GPSr on an airplane. Has anyone ever had a problem with getting it by security? I'm flying to San Diego next week and wanted to take mine with me. I plan to carry it in my pocket rather than put it in my suitcase because I don't want it to become lost or damaged.

being new to adding poi to my garmin,can someone tell me there location on my garmin after the files have been loaded onto my 750.for example all usa state parks.can i create an icon for easy access?thanks lary
