poi files downloaded to my nuvi750

being new to adding poi to my garmin, can someone tell me there location on my garmin after the files have been loaded onto my 750.for example all usa state parks.can i create an icon for easy access?thanks lary

.

All of your custom POIs will be found under:

Where To - Extras (you need to press the down arrow to see this option) - Custom POIs - then you will see your POIs

As far as creating a custom menu icon for easy access, that's a definite NO. Garmin's philosophy is that the end user should not be able to customize their units. So what you see is what you get.

Where or where have my POI gone?

POI you download from this site (or others but I have no clue as to why you would go someplace else) are found by touching Where To/Extras/Custom POI.

Icon files are also available for many of the POI files as well as alert sound files. As you are using a 750, you can use the MP3 files. The POI file, icon file, and sound file must have EXACTLY the same name except the file extension. The most common reason a sound file or icon will not work is because you have 2 file extensions.

There are many threads on this site about loading POI and the problems encountered with double extensions. Take a little time and read some of them for troubleshooting help. Gary Hayman also has an excellent site he maintains covering some of the things you can do with a Garmin. Links to his site will also appear in the threads.

Welcome to the site.
