I've just remark that there is a beta red light file and a standard one. Which one should we be installing in our unit, both? just the beta? or just the red light standard file?

I've got a Nuvi 650 that has served me well enough in my truck for several cross country and many local excursions, all using the OEM suction mount and 12V cable.

Went from 660 to 765t. Motorolz Razr voice dial no longer works. Garmin tech support there is nothing can be done. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a work around?

I just purchased life-time traffic last week. Installation was pretty straight-forward. However, after I turned off my unit, then used it the next day, I checked traffic and it said it was unavailable. I then checked my subscription and it said it had expired. So I entered my subscriotion code again and it worked OK until I powed off and on again. Same message, expired.

gave my nuvi 650 to my son (he was going to ca.) and just ordered 255w . made a mistake and bought a nav740 . great price but i think the basic operation of the garmin had spoiled me so i sent it back . one thing i didnt but i will do with the 255w is try and use it to its full potential.

My gpsmap 60C has a 'best fishing times' predictor program. I'm trying to figure out how they are guessing the good times to fish? I typically head out either at low tide or high tide depending on the beach but this doesn't seem to agree with the program sometimes.

Anybody have any insight to the accuracy of this tool?

Can I use POI Loader with Map Source. It shows that option with POI Loader, but I can't find the file when I'm in Map Source.

I'm tring to set up routes for a Motorcycle trip to California. I want to see all the Harley Dealers on the routes I've set-up.

I saved the file with Map Source (advanced). and then to c:\Users\owner\Downloads

I just started using my Nuvi 755T and am new to GPS in general. After loading the latest software to include the ecoRoute function, the map now seems to refresh my position only every 10 seconds. I didn't notice any such lag with the previous software version. What am I missing?

I just got this Nuvi 260W at Costco and I am trying to register it to download the 2009.1 update. The plugin is installed OK, but it just sits there and does nothing after entering my serial number. It does not find the NUVI. It is there because I can see it in my-computer as a drive letter.

but how do I find the airfields in NY? Couldn't figure out how to access them...

Lately it seems that theft is increasing every where. My Garmin was stolen from my own home garage in the afternoon a few days ago. It was fortunate only the GPS but now I have to close the garage at all time.

My 765 died this morning. When I connected it to the cradle, it tried to pair with my phone and got turned off. So far I have no luck to turn it back on.
I will appreciate any advice.

As I was looking this evening at the Garmin Nuvifones http://www.garminasus.com/garminasu...lang/en/welcome and they are starting to show up on websites even thought they are not available yet. I was wondering if we might ever see a ruggedized, water resistant GPS smartphone.

I am new at this and am trying to download a file to my Nuvi760. I do not know how to open the file after downloading it? I have installoed poi loader. Can someone help me?

Does anybody know how big the Save Location is for a 255W? I went 2.4 miles from my house and thought I was pretty save. I locked the GPS and drove home. In the driveway I could unlock it. Any thoughts?

Just for fun, let’s assume that you won first prize in some mythical contest and it turned out to be any automotive GPS under $1,000. Which would you choose?

I'm probably missing something, but struggling to figure out how I can use custom POI files for trip planning.

Background: I'm on a Macintosh and have RouteBuddy and Garmin's RoadTrip and POI loader. My Garmin is a StreetPilot (7200) with 8g memory card.

Some things I'd think might work don't..others do when I work with downloaded POI files from the POI Factory.

I think I need to break this out into it's own thread instead of Aarrgghhs thread.

The new animated SRF format is up and (hopefully) running in SRFBldr:

It will now import all the images and stitch them together.

Also there are menu items for PNG->aSRF and aSRF to PNG conversion..

When I first got my Nuvi 775T I was able to get a signal right way, even inside the house. Now however, after several weeks of usage, it can take up to five minutes to acquire a signal, sometimes longer (same locations). What's changed?
