I was wondering if you can mark sections of roads as closed, so the Nuvi will automatically route around it when calculating routes?

Here in St. Louis, there is a several mile section of a major highway closed for repairs, and it will be for many months.

(Using nuvi 750, btw.)

I downloaded Red Light & Speed Cameras POIs to my computer but when I try to load them to my device or the SD card, the POI loader can't locate them or I can't see them when I use the browse function.

Has anyone expirienced this? My 255W has been fine and has not seen much use in the 2 months I have owned it. As soon as I plug in the unit I get a white screen flashing with the garmin splash screen in the background. It seems to sometimes stop and work if I press on the screen. Other than this it works OK. It did the flashing white screen once on battery, but that has not been replicable.

I travel to doctors for a living and I have yet to find a download which only shows local doctors? Does anyone know of a download like this? NUVI 260W

My 765t seems frequently misinterprets my touches, as much as 25% of the time. Calibrating the screen only produces minimal improvment. The problem is espcially severe at the bottom of the screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just picked up a 885t and installed the Costco POI. I'm assuming the unit already had Costco's on it, so I'm not sure what effect it had. Also where would I find them on the device? I was expecting a special category for custom POI's but are they just put in a category automatically?

I recently picked up an 885T after being a Tomtom user for years and years. I noticed there are plenty of reviews on this device, but I rarely see it mentioned here. Are people using it?

Does anyone know when Garmin will release a DVD with the 2010 maps on it.

I have just bought a Nuvi 660 FM and am still getting to know its features. I was interested to see that the green text bar at the top generally shows the name of side roads on the right as you pass them, and usually ignores ones on the left.

I've been trying since mid January and have had no success. I bought a new Garmin 255W and want to have it tell me "rest area ahead" on the interstate rest areas. I've loaded the Illinois rest areas manually and added a WAV file. I gave the WAV file the same name as the rest area file name. I set the distance to 3000 ft manually. It doesn't work. I also added the SOX.EXE file as instructed.

I downloaded my phone directory via bluetooth onto my Garmin 780. When I looked at it the names are fliped around,and are listed last name first (rather than the way they are on my phone last name last) and many of the names are trunkated.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to edit the Garmin information? I looked for an edit key but none exists, nor is there a way to delete information.

I have a Nuvi 660 with City Navigator North America NT 2008 Software 4.70. But I find that my location on the map is off. When I am driving and pass a street the gps will show I am just passing it. Another thing I noticed is that when I go off the route it will show me still driving on the route for about 1.5 seconds then will reroute me. Does anyone else have these issues?

I have a Garmin 750 and new to this forum. Just downloaded several POI files, imported to the Garmin, but I can't find them.
Any suggestions?

I have a NOVI 760. I loaded some POI's and they were in the spot on the GPS map as they are on land. Now they are on the road. I can look at a POI and drive buy it on a interstate, or another street and the GPS will not tell me it is there.

What am I doing wrong.

Garmin International has released their second set of the quarterly maps under the nuMaps Lifetime program moniker.

And I as I have been saying all along Garmin doesn't get the newest map data available. and should have called it's latest release what it actually is 2009.2, instead it gets named "CityNavigator NT 2010".

I have a Garmin Nuvi 360 and have enjoyed using POI's from the POI-factory. However, I have some alerts that pop up on some items that are obnoxious and won't go away.

Yes, it's just a 200, no bells and whistles. But for $87 it's not a bad deal. I have no idea whether buying this "recertified" unit will let you get a free upgrade to the current map software. NOTE: this is advertised as a "one day special".

I have a Nuvi 760 that is about 18 months old. Up until now, I have had no issues with it. I keep the firmware up to date but have not updated to the newest map version.

I almost never use the battery preferring to keep it plugged in to the DC in my car. Usually (not 100%), when I get home, I take it out of the window and turn it off.

I have a Nuvi 200 and I am very happy with it. However, I found out after a map update that I have the version with only 1 GB of internal memory.

I am looking to purchase an additional Nuvi and do not want to make the same (small memory size) mistake.

Does someone know where I can find a chart that compares the internal memory sizes of the different Nuvi model numbers?
