POI backup on C340

Does anyone have a way to copy the custom POI files on a C340 to your computer? I had to give my work laptop back when I was laid off (amazing eh?) and I now realize that I didn't copy all of my files off it. The C340 doesn't look like a disk drive when connected to the computer like the newer devices do which complicates matters.
Please help if you can..

If I remember correctly....
the only way I could correspond with the C340 is via Garmin utilities - perhaps other utilities will communicate as well..
Have you tried mapsource (and other popular utilities) to transfer FROM the unit and then save the file? Also try GeePeeEX editor and Extra Poi Editor to see how they work with the C340.
