Can someone educate me on the naming convention for the enforcement-camera files? What does "1wn-enforcement-camera" mean? It is a smaller file then "2ar-enforcement-camera"

Is it possible to use the traffic power cord from the Nuvi 255WT on the Nuvi 750?

Do any Nuvi 855 or 885 (or 850/880) owners have specific experience with an A/C wall charger?

Can the Nuvi 855 be operated (from the Main Menu and on the “Map Screen”) while connected to an A/C wall charger?

Will the 855 recharge noticeably faster on A/C power than computer USB?

I want to make some of my POI's make a noise to indicate something is coming up, but some of them I would like to pop up on the screen how it does now (gray bar at top saying whats close) without the sound... is that possible?

I attempted to dwnld a set of POI files to my friends 750. It would not recognize the SD card. Is there some magic word to use so that the unit can load the addition POI's?

My wife's car has built in Navigation and one of the choices for setting a destination is by phone number.

For public places this is by far the easiest way to set a destination. No confusion about mailing as opposed to real address, similar names, etc. Enter the 10 digit phone number and your done.

I tried this solution using the voice editor, and it has gotten rid of my stuttering problem on my 760 with the latest firmware.

I have noticed a stutter once or twice, but that is over a month.

I ordered Garmin NAVIGATOR EUROPE NT/DVD for my model 650 gps. I am expecting it tomorrow at my front door when I get home. I understand that the maps on the DVD can be directly downloaded to the garmin gps memory card. Can someone advice how to do this? Also, can I use SDHC memory card with this 650? Went shopping yesterday and most stores carries SDHC cards.

Hi can someone tell me how to navigate the Garmin site for unlocking maps,i got my lifetime card today and can't seem to find out how to unlock and DL from Garmin's site. i logged in my account but can't see where to type in my product code to start the down load.

I have a Garmin 200 and 755t and just unlocked the City Navigator Europe 2010 maps and installed them through the Garmin Mapsource application. When I go to the Garmin unit it will find nearby things (restaurants and such) but won't let me navigate by address - by that I mean when I select Go To > Address no cities even show up. Please help, thanks in advance!

I have a Garmin nuvi 650 that I bought in 2007 and I just bought nuMaps lifetme. i was abble to successfully load the map updates, and do address find in PA.

When any of you updated your maps, did your personal POI's integrate with the new map update?

The POI's I have gained from this site i could easily replace after the upgrade. The personal ones.. what a pain that would be!

I have 2 questions:

I have several custom POI files including rest areas and combined campgrounds installed and in the POI folfder on the PC. If I activate alerts, do I get an alert for every GD campground we pass or can I just get rest area alerts? And how?

Once subscribed, how do you get the updates? Do they install directly into the GPS with Webupdater? Does MapSource update as well?

Hello, I have a couple of questions that maybe someone out there could answer for me. I am using a Garmin Nuvi 205W. I'm currently working on a project that involves creating detour points for a construction project. I was wondering if there was a way to have my POI's override the Goto function voice?

Anybody out there using Easy GPS with your Garmin?

I was looking for a way to back up my favorites and it seems to be able to fetch them from the GPS, let me modify them, and then put my updates back onto the GPS. It also seems to be able to merge in gpx files.

I just upgraded to a Nuvi 255w at Best Buy. I loaded all my custom POI's onto a SD card in the new Nuvi 255w.
Now ever time I turn it on I get the splash screen "New extra data found on card. Would you like to install all ----------". Followed by "yes/No"
I hit "no" but still get the splash screen every time I turn the Nuvi 255w on.
How do I correct this?
