Can anyone tell me how much built-in internal memory the nuvi 885 unit has ?

I have searched all the faq's for an answer but no luck.

Do you have to have the mp3 player in the nuvi 750 on with the FM transmitter and car radio in order to hear
alerts?????

My Nuvi merely gives me 2 bong noises for alerts.

Last couple days my traffic seems to take for ever to load. I have even had a message come up twice that I needed an update or something of that nature. I know that it is still providing electric power to charge the unit but the Traffic part seems to be messing up.

I have checked online and there are no updates for my device.

I have the Garmin Nuvi 750 and every time i check for the updates online there are voice updates for the American voices. i update all 3 that are there. then i disconnect.. restart the nuvi. then if i reconnect to the Garmin Update. the same voice updates show that they werent updated.

anyone know whats going on with this?

Just returned from a trip out west. I wanted to retain the coordinates of sites visited to make a comprehensive map using Google Maps. I did a "Where Am I" at each site and saved it in my Favorites file.
I'm home now and when I put the coordinates in Google Maps I'm 30 or 40 miles off most of the time. What did I do wrong?

I know this has been asked before, but, perhaps not in this way. I have had a StreetPilot C330 for about 4 years (Paid $679.00 for it in 2005). The battery conked out on me, although it works in the car cradle or on my PC. Time to upgrade. My question is do any of the Nuvi 7XX or 8xx series display the upcoming street name like my C330? That is one feature I love.

Ever think that the Nuvi Icon in your PC's "File Manager" was too dull? Here's how to change it. I apologize if someone else already covered this.

For some reason, my PC uses a different icon in "My Computer". It shows a map being inserted to an envelope and the word "Trial" at the bottom of the icon. Haven't found the location of that one yet.

I once was able to establish the coordinates of a site on my Nuvi 260W, but I do not remember how I did it. If anyone has the answer, please share it. Thanks.

Hi All,

I just got the GDB 55 the other day and was wondering what battery life you get from the receiver? I know the documentation says it will receive for a few days. I initially used it thursday and it showed a full charge after an hour. About 24 hours later the battery icon was empty.

Is this normal? What kind of life do you get?

I am a newbie at this. I have a Garmin 260w and I am trying to load redlight and speed cameras. I downloaded the poi loader. The files were downloaded into Excel.csv format.When I try to upload into the Garmin/GPX directory on my device, it says congratulations you've just loaded 6 points of interest.When I check the custom poi's on my Garmin, there are no cameras loaded.

I was helping my folks with their Garmin Nuvi 750.

I had previously loaded a custom start up photo with their contact info to the 750 via SD card.

They asked me to make some changes. I went into the Nuvi 750 looking for the picture, and couldn't find it in any folder.

Just thought I would share a small item that may confuse someone as it did me this morning with my 770. I had the navigation set to the internal speaker and muted.

I switched over to broadcast on a FM frequency. I thought everything was fine because my music was playing.

First, let me say hi to all as I'm new here and find this site amazing. Also thanks to the staff (John) for getting my password straightened out.

Read many threads on installing the NuMaps Lifetime Update. It was very helpful. Thanks to everyone who contribute on this topic. It took me 4 hrs to d/l and 2 more to install onto my computer and Garmin. Now that I'm updated with 2010 version, will my next update be that long too? How would I know if an update is available?

I waited for about 40 minutes for a software specialist because i cant figure out the POI's...

they went into my computer but they told me its not possible to display icons from the POI FACTORY into my nuvi unit... ? ( besides the typical grey dot)

I dont believe this to be true but please help or correct me if im wrong.

Thanks for all the great responses and ideas to my original post concerning my Nuvi 765T which all of the sudden would not get any power when connected into its 12v cradle in the car during a trip. However, the saga continues and I really need some ideas.

Amazon's current price. I don't know if this is a good price, but thought I would post it if someone is in the market for one.
