Is there a way to program my 660 to alert me when I go over a preset speed.

Has anyone tried to load a different version of the Nuvi software to a different model GPS unit...aKa like using the Nuvi 5000 software on a Nuvi 200. I was wondering if it would work so that my GPS would have truck routing capability.

New guy so be patient. I downloaded and installed the Combined Rest Area POI file to my Nuvi 260. There are several POI categories for the pre-installed POIs, but I can't find the new ones. Should I have also downloaded an icon to make it work?

My MapSource shows that I have 2009, 2009.1, and 2010.1 ... Where do I go to uninstall the 2009 ones and can I uninstall them without affecting 2010.1?

Due to limited space I have on my laptop, I am planning to delete the Garmin folder. This folder was created when I did an 2010 MapUpdate. Inside of this folder are MapSource.exe and MapInstall.exe (alone with many xxx.dll files). What are they for? When I opened them it looks like I can install the states (instead of all 50) that I want. My manual didn't go a lot of detail about it.

Just a general question. If a person submits a file, can another person update it? It doesn't matter but over the past while I've had a couple files I submitted updated by someone other than myself. I guess I don't understand the process.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the lifetime free traffic vs the paid clear channel traffic in Chicago? I know they have recently added sensors to a lot of county roads and routes but I can't figure out if there is much of a difference between the two traffic services since they don't provide a list of detailed coverage.

Ok, so i loaded the 2010 maps on the Garmin device (SD Card) and it has 2009 already on it from the factory.

Question - Do i need to keep this on the device or can i safley delete it, if so, how do you delete it?

I just got an email saying "June is Map Update Month" but it doesn't show up in "My Account" under "Manage Maps" and the Nuvi is connected. I should mention I have purchased Lifetime Maps. Has anyone found where they have hidden them or are they not really available? Nothing shows up in WebUpDater either.

I loaded routes and POIs into my 750.
When I loaded them, the POIs (maybe the ones attached to the routes) also went to favorites.

I didn't want all of them in my favorites so I deleted the ones from favorites I did not want.

While I am on Vacation I would like some of them to be back in Favorites.

Is there a way to pull into Favorites from my POIs?

set up my traffic for the 265wt, also how do I set up the traffic cams and red light cameras

I downloaded the Ohio Winery POI and was experimenting with the alerts.

I downloaded it to the card twice........and it shows 2 winery files on the card. Should be only 1, since it supposedly erases the original poi file.

Another problem.......I have the alerts set for 1500 feet. I was using the simulator to test it out. The alert dosen't sound until your pulling into the place.

The following is the response I received from Garmin Product Support reqarding the junction view in my 765T. Junction view appears to be working in other models and worked in mine until the latest map update and or firmware update. If it worked when purchased why can't they fix it.

my Nuvi 760 has a tourguide sound loop.
if one alert is triggert, than it plays the sound once.
if a second location is nearby ( while the first existing alert is still within range and showing on the screen) and its sound alert is triggert, then the first and second and first alert plays again and again several times. like one triggers the other, until i am out of the range of one of them.

I would like to alert others to the fact that Costco currently has on sale the Garmin Nuvi 855 for only $249. This unit allows users to control it by their Voice Commands, but it is also notable for not having two other popular Nuvi features: It does NOT have Bluetooth or free Traffic alerts.

Has anyone successfully replaced there nuvii battery. Mine only lasted just over 16 months, shows full charge but shutsdown in 5 mins or less. Please help!!!
