Anyone having issues with getting the custom sounds to work with this nuvi for POI's? I have an 855 and it works fine, tried on my new 1690 and it does not work. Can anyone get it to work?

I have downloaded the FlyingJ POI using the Garmin POI loader. When done it says I have successfully added the POI file to the Gamin 650. When I travel I never see the POI on the GPS, so I am still using the road signs. Do I have to do something different to make the Flying J POI's show on the GPS maps? joesabeh@gmail.com

I see the Lifetime map updates on Amazon is currently $79.95.

From the threads I've seen, this is actually a pretty low price. I'm curious if the current price is the lowest anyone has seen or if it has gone lower? What's the lowest price the Lifetime Maps have ever been?

When I got a Nuvi 205 and did a One time update to NT 2010.10 my computer downloaded a file called Garmin_RMU_CNNANT2010C.exe, which installed the new map on the Nuvi 205 and it installed MapSource with the same version of map as the GPS unit onto my computer.

Does anyone know of a way to get the audio out from a Garmin Nuvi 265WT to a Chatterbox (wired not bluetooth) Motorcyle Intercom?

Anybody have this device? I realize that it is small screen, but that really isn't an issue for me. I'm sick of my Nuvi 855 dying on me, and am looking at this device (to keep the price down).

Just completed an 18 hundred mile trip. While on the trip, I noticed that on a number instances when coming back on to the Interstate from a fuel or rest stop, that my Garmin seemed confused. The map would show the proper route, and the proper way to turn. The voice direction would tell me to go in the opposite direction.

Has anyone else experienced this confussion?

Recently the Red Light camera warning have been going off and beeping while driving on the expressway. I'm getting warning for intersections while driving on the highway, this was not the case a few weeks back.
Has the proximity distance been changed on the red light camera file?

Has something changed with some recent firmware update, or do I have an impending problem?

Up until recently I could plug the 1490T into the computer starting with the unit off. It would boot up into file transfer mode. Now if I plug it in with the unit off, the Garmin screen flashes up, turns off and continues with the on off cycle infinitum.

The battery life on my Garmin 265w is about 2 hours. This seems kind of short. What are the lengths of some battery lifes for other users and their GPS's?

POI proximity alerts work fine in my Nuvi 750 as long as I am in the City Navigator mode. I also have Garmin Topo 2008 installed, and when I turn off City Navigator to go into the Topo mode I no longer get POI proximity alerts. Any idea why, or what can I do?

I've recently acquired an inexpensive Nuvi 255W to replace my 250W (I wanted the TTS). I've just been adding some custom POI files from this site and noticed a problem.

OK heres the problem i have 20 or thirty addresses at a time to run .So i put all my addresses into my garmin c550 or nuvi 350 .But heres the problem once i run the address i need to be able to delete it ,after 6 or 7 addresses they all run together.well i could delete them one at a time in favorites but i have 40 or 50 favorites of roads that are not marked in gps and other places that i have to

Found out someone at work has a Garmin 660.
She was kind-of down on it, for reasons she wasn't clear on.... She had not seen any others, or longed for a specific feature the 660 didn't have... My gut feeling was that she felt it was just "old" and never really found out what it could do.

Hi - If I find a POI in my Nuvi 265WT and save it as a favorite, it always displays on the map. Is there a way to disable that somehow? My map is getting a bit cluttered...

One of my 255s is having screen calibration problems. I forgot which corner to press to do a calibration and reset it by mistake. I had to recategorize all of my Favorites. Very time consuming and cumbersome on the nuvi. Can it be done with Map Source? I can't see how.

On my wifes 265t, the spoken directions are exact opposite of the actual shown directions. Only happens in large metropolitain areas, like Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA. So the next turn shows left, and Jack says "turn right". It has happened through the past two map updates. Running current version from WebUpdater. I have tried hard reset. Tried the reset by holding the power switch over.

I went to the webupdater and there when I got to the last page where the updates were, the first line on top show this: GPS CHIPSET TYPW M HOTFIX DATA; is this a fix for a problem that the Gps 855 has. Should I download this.
