WEBUPDATER GPS 855

 

I went to the webupdater and there when I got to the last page where the updates were, the first line on top show this: GPS CHIPSET TYPW M HOTFIX DATA; is this a fix for a problem that the Gps 855 has. Should I download this.

Thank you for a quick reply. That is why I like this site. Some one always have the right and quick answer.

Another question. Went to download and it gave me this: The file or directory is corrupted and undreadable. What do I do now.

Off the top of my head, power down the unit by -removing the battery- for ~20 seconds. Reinsert the battery, connect to the PC and try again.

If this does not help, I would contact Garmin as the message seems to indicate a corrupted file system.

E-mail Garmin Tech with the problem. She email back on how to fix the problem. Had to delete a file in the Garmin drive. Down load was a sucess.

Here are steps to delete this error:

Right click on the garmin drive

Go to properties

Click on tools

Click on check now

Click on the first box that says automatically fix file system errors

Find found000 folder and delete it
