Discussion with another Nuvi 660 owner

Found out someone at work has a Garmin 660.
She was kind-of down on it, for reasons she wasn't clear on.... She had not seen any others, or longed for a specific feature the 660 didn't have... My gut feeling was that she felt it was just "old" and never really found out what it could do.
I asked her if she ever updated firmware or maps, or bought any options for it. No. She had no idea what firmware or map version she had.... It's still stock... with a few favorites stored..
So I approached the conversation from a different approach, explaing POI's and the great info that this site provides.... and what we did to our 660 to 'customize' it... and in my opinion, changed the way the 660 acts greatly from 'stock'....
It's been long enough that I don't remember.... From early firmware to present... Has there been anything that firmware updates turned on a feature that wasn't there before, and wasn't a bugfix?

The 660 is the only Garmin I've ever owned and I love it! As long as it keeps working, I'll stick with it. It does everything I need without too many bells & whistles.
As far as new "features," that's kind of a generic question, but here is the release history info on the 660 straight from Garmin:
If you could find out what "features" this person is looking for, we might be able to provide better answers.

Gary I couldn't get that from her.... I think it's because she didn't know what changes could be done to GPS's at all.... She didn't know about POI's... at all... but wanted to know more...
I'm with you regarding the 660... It's my first GPS, though I have seen earlier versions... Once they started talking... they made more sense to me.
My wife was the instigator, but once I got comfortable with it, I was hooked.
A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!
