Hello to all the people that have the new Garmin Nuvi 3597. Have you all learned anything new about this device that isn't in the manual.

- Is there a way to change the font size on the unit. A font size of 8 or less would be nice. This way I would be able to see whole name of the POI.

On my last trip; to Ireland and Portugal the power cord that goes into the car's power source did not work.
Got back home and it charged fine.
Has anyone else experienced this and what can I do so I have it next time.
It has worked fine on previous trip to Europe.

Hello, I am a newbie to this forum and have a problem that I need help with. I have created a collection in Basecamp that I loaded onto my 2595 and now it just hangs when powering on and loading the North American Map. I fear that I hade too much content in the collection as I had brought all of the KOA and Good Sam RV Sites as well as the generic US & Canada campgrounds into Basecamp.

Somehow,my Garmin Nuvi 265WT downloaded the wrong traffic provider software on a previous update through the Garmin Express updater.I now have the Michelin French software in my unit instead of the US provider Is there any way to get rid of the French software and download the proper US version ?
Garmin tech support is useless.

Used my Garmin from the east coasy. Worked fine. When I got into Yellowstone it was confused. Spent three days there. Thanks to the park map we got around

I have a Garmin nuvi 1490. I can't charge it in the car. It indicates battery low and it shuts off. Best Buy said it can't help. They said it could be the cord or the plug hole in the back.
It is still new, what do I do.

Before I query garmin, does anyone know why I occasionally get a gray 'P' icon on the right of the Nav Bar. I know it refers to parking but not sure why it appears all of a sudden.

I haven't updated my 3490LMT in about a year and I was reading that starting with 2013.20, it requires a 4GB microSD card due to expanded junction view files. Is this true?

Why can't Garmin add the "search" CUSTOM POI feature found on the new 3597 to all their previous models?

I like the search feature on the new 2013 Garmin GPS's(3597) that when you type a POI name in the search bar it searches their database as well as your CUSTOM POI's.

Recently used my Nuvi 1490LMT to successfully guide me to a destination I've never visited before. Performed flawlessly ! Return trip was another story...unit did not "retrace" route out but instead routed me back using a completely different route. Anyone else have this experience ? Why wouldn't same route be used in reverse ?

I keep my Nuvi 250W as a backup to my Nuvi 1490LMT. Is it worth purchasing map update for my Nuvi 250W ? Is there a place to purchase update at reduced cost ? Don't want to spend a ton as unit is only kept as backup.

Its been a while since I've updated my Garmin SW. I just loaded the latest Garmin Express and updated my device. I noticed that when I login to my Garmin myDashboard account (my.garmin.com/mygarmin/dashboard/dashboard.htm) it says I still need to update the software I just got done updating with Garmin Express. Does anyone know if these are suppose to be consistent?

Though we've used GPS for several years, I'm still kind of novice.

We had to run up and back to Long Island yesterday and I didn't print reverse directions (we always print out to supplement the Garmin).

I have a Garmin 1490LM (software 6.2, 2013.40 maps). I have built some custom routes using Mapsource(6.13.3) and saved as GPX. I have noticed when I use the GPX routes, my speed (in LR corner of display) along with the time (LL corner of display) vary rarely update. The navigation is correct and Jill talks to me but the time/speed display rarely update. Went on a 2 ½ hr.

I updated my Nuvi 650 yesterday. Then I went to Tools, Map, then Map Info at the bottom of the screen. It beeps but doesn't go to the info screen. Last year when I updated I had to go there to select the map, I can't this time. What have I missed when I updated??? Here's what I did:

+ I have an 8g SD card in my Nuvi
1) I used a 15g flash drive with only \Garmin on it.

Anyone having problems with their GPS

I downloaded the latest map update, with Garmin Express, to my 2GB SD card and was only able to load the lower 48 because of a lack of space. I just bought a 4GB card and it is telling me the same thing.

When I try to select all maps the continue button is grayed out. When I used the old update system, before Garmin Express, I was able to do complete maps with the 2GB card.

I am having trouble getting Mapsource to save a .gdb file as a .gpx file. First the error message "out of memory" appears. Subsequent efforts to save a .gdb file as a .gpx file merely freeze the program.

On my 660 how long should it take to get Satellite Reception. I went out to a open area and it sometimes takes about 5 min. Is this normal for the 660, I have not used it for sometime now.

I just installed a new after market battery in my old 660. I had it charging for about 30 min from my PC, when i turned it on there was still only 1 bar lit, how long should it take for a full charge. I now have it hooked up in the car charging.
