Garmin Express Update?

When I launch Garmin Express 2.1.13, I get the message "A new version of Garmin Express is available. We will update it the next time you launch the application."

Well, I have shut down GE, relaunched, and continue to get this message. I restarted the computer, launched GE, and I still get the message. The download from the Garmin site is 2.1.13, so I have no idea what this stupid software is talking about. Apparently, there is no update, even though GE thinks there is.

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks.

GE

Just Garmins way to keep you on your toes, you do have the current version.

similar GE experience

Had a similar experience when updating to latest maps. GE reduced my lifespan by about 2 hours, that one time.

Garmin Express 2.2.13

You can download the installer here: http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/B/GarminExpressInstaller.exe.

For some reason, the links on Garmin's site for Express still go to the older version 2.1.13, but the above link will get you the new version.

So your saying there actually is a 2.2.13 version available? I didn't know that. I didn't have any problems updating 4 GPSs with v2.1.13. By the time I saw the new map notice here at the factory last Friday my GE had already downloaded it and was just waiting for me to connect the 4 units.

I'll look into your link when I have a little more time.

Thanks,

Yes

honestly

It is becoming ridiculous now. Garmin still has not put Express together and has stupid errors in software. I wonder when they will start testing on users version beta of this software, as current version still behaves like early alpha. Let's hope, that after next update it will not start killing GPS units with some idiotic updates.

GE

Thanks for the new link.

Please Confirm

I was under the impression that Garmin Express only made the "download to computer" option available if there was not enough room on the units internal memory to place the maps there.

Can you confirm that 2.2.13 has corrected this restriction and made the option available regardless if there is room on the Nuvi to send the maps there.
Is the option also available to download to both device and computer as with MapUpdater?

Express

Still have not loaded GE on my computer just because of all these things. MapUpdater worked just fine for the last release and I know that any other update notifications will show up here at the POI-Factory.

Thanks for the link but I'm still not 100% sure that it does work. If you look at the poster, SUSSAMB (Jon), he is in England. Euro maps are quite large and may indeed not fit on his Nuvi 1490 or 1310 and must go on a SD card. Perhaps that is why the option is available for him. Interesting to note, he states he uses Mapupdater and not GE.

Not caring to install Garmin Express at this time, I am unable to perform a test myself.
The only way to know for sure is to have a member in North America using GE Ver 2.2.13 on a Nuvi that has 8GB internal memory ATTEMPT to download the current map. If the option to download to PC then appeared I would be convinced. No need to actually download, just see if the option appears.

GE 2.2.13

I have a 2555LMT and updated to GE Ver2.2.13 after installing NA2014-10 with previous version GE. Maps are on device not on SD card. I do have the option to download NA2014-10 to my computer GE. I will download NA2014-10 to my computer Friday at work.

You sir have made a very (VERY) wise decision

You sir have made a very (VERY) wise decision NOT to download Garmin Express onto your computer.

Bottom line is in my experience GE is a time waster... so map updater is my work around.

Yes ... Same issue

Yes, it get this same stupid message. But there is no update beyond 2.2.13 as far as I can tell.

Software Garmin Express SUCKS

Last update is screwed up my unlocks on the C530 now it screwed up the unlocks on the Nuvi 1350. I learned on the C530 to not load ANYTHING into the C530 via Garmin Express but, I tried it with the Nuvi and now "Can't unlock Maps" what a pain in the keister!

Good news is that the 2014.10 does add the new roads in my area that I use everyday!
