Nuvi 2797LMT and the GTM60

Just curious if anyone has experience using a GTM60 antenna with a 2797 after using the OEM provided GTM36. Essentially, is it worth upgrading to a 60, in particular in the NYC/LI metro area? The 36 provides better than expected performance for me so far, even to the point of being ahead of local radio stations' traffic reports at times.

.

I can't comment on that particular setup in that particular area but I will say this...

In the Los Angeles area, the GTM 60 used with a nuvi 3490LMT seems to be less tolerant of low signal/reception issues/etc. I don't recall having many problems using my nuvi 3790/GTM 35 setup. Seems as though the GTM 60 either has reception issues or the 3490 (along with other nuvis that use the GTM 60) itself has an issue when used with the GTM 60.

And it's not like I'm in the boonies either...as I mentioned, I'm in SoCal and the issues persist with very frequent "Searching for update" messages being displayed. In fact, it seems like I see that blasted message 70% of the time I'm using the unit and I decide to look and see what it's status is...that silly green icon doesn't tell me a thing about it's status. rolleyes
