Just curious if anyone has experience using a GTM60 antenna with a 2797 after using the OEM provided GTM36. Essentially, is it worth upgrading to a 60, in particular in the NYC/LI metro area? The 36 provides better than expected performance for me so far, even to the point of being ahead of local radio stations' traffic reports at times.

I have an old Nuvi 360 that came with USa maps preinstalled.

I have access to Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2013.10 and can choose which part of the European map to load up onto the Garmin device or onto an SD card.

I checked webupdater recently and under the update info for the GTM software, it had the following:

"Changes from version 2.80 to version 2.90: Fixed lockup that could result in grey traffic icon being displayed on PND"

I couldn't figure what PND was, but I now realize that it was possibly "Personal Navigation Device".

When I launch Garmin Express 2.1.13, I get the message "A new version of Garmin Express is available. We will update it the next time you launch the application."

After updating my Nuvi 2595 with the new maps, went out for a drive and found that the road avoidances were ignored on a route. They were in the Garmin, and it said they were active. I deleted them, and set them up again, and another test drive showed they worked. What a PIA it would have been if I had a slew of avoidances programmed in and had to reinstall them each time I get a map upgrade.

I've tested out the Bluetooth feature on 2595 on Best Buy display. Hearing the other end is difficult even at moderate noise level inside the store.

I did some reading on it and it appears that this is a common complaint with the 2012 and on model year Garmin units.

We have a Nuvi 660 and we're very happy with it...

She would like to get a GPS for her car.

I Definitely want Lifetime maps. Possibly Lifetime traffic too.... Voice prompts too...

Memory card slot a plus...

I'm perfectly happy with the 660....

So.... Based on the needs posted... What Model Garmin gives the best bang for the buck?

I found this unique intersection on a route on I-90 in Seattle coming off I-5 (exit 164)northbound to Spokane. I was curious to see how it looks in a Nuvi with the PhotoReal feature. How much more life-like can it be? Maybe someone could post a PhotoReal screenshot for comparison.

What are the differences in the 2xx5 and 2xx7 models and which ones should I go with?

It looks like the 2xx7 series introduces the magnetic mount. Is this a worthwhile advantage or just something that gets in the way when you're putting it away and costly to replace when something goes with it after warranty?

I have just downloaded a NA map/USA and Canada 2014.10 update on Life time update plan using Garmin map updater V3.1.13. The download /install appears to have gone well BUT.... On powering up the GPS I get a "cannot authenticate maps" notice.

Do you have to use the poi loader to install red light poi or can you simplly copy and paste them?

In another thread, we've discovered that the new 2014.10 City Navigator NA map update has--at least for the nuvi 2460--installed a DxxxxxxA.jcv file and also includes a DxxxxxxA.unl file of the same filename in the jcv folder.

Earlier today I started on updating both the 855 and 3790 to 2014.10.

I would like to get a 7" size Garmin. They have a 7" 2757LM for $220 and now they have a new RV 760LM for $400. Having the RV input for size and info on areas not to travel worth the difference of $180?

I know the top one is for the 2013.40 map, but what are the bottom two for? Can I remove them?

P.S.: It is okay to have the map on the SD card, but the junction view file on internal memory. Correct?
