Can I have sub categories for POI's like "Truck Stops", "Wal-marts", etc in my 2595

I only see one place to put POI's that I download from the Factory....it's into "other Categories" in a place called "custom POI's"

I have ,so far, at least 7 categories of places I would like to put on my garmin 2595LMT

Do I have to jumble them all together or is there a way to have sub categories?

Thanks, Jim

After I made the post I

After I made the post I figured out how to set up folders so that the POI Loader from Garmin would put them into separate folders

POI

When Loading with the POI loader, its best to Load the POI Files MANUALLY, in Lieu of Express, since YOU can Control how YOU want the POI File to be Loaded

@don, I assume you are referring to "adding" proximity, etc. to the process for certain files. Otherwise, I do not think that loading a folder having several POI folders/files within it will produce different results vis-a-vis categories.

Good that you figured it out

Now if someone could figure out how to move the 'Other Categories' option from the third page down to the first page, I would be happy.

I Think This Is What Your Asking

With custom POI's they will appear as first in first displayed. It may be time consuming but you can have the custom POI's appear in the order you want.

Copy all the .GPI files from the POI folder to your hard drive. Now copy 1 at a time back to the POI folder on the Nuvi. The first one you copy back will appear on the list first. Continue copying all the files back in the order you want them appear.

There may be an easier way of doing it but I am not aware of another method.

I always copy the Redlight camera first, then Speed camera, then Rest Areas, that's exactly the order they appear when I click on Custom POI's.

Please note this method can be a nuisance since if you update the Redlight camera file weekly it has to be done each time. It seems like Garmin uses the date stamp to display the POI's.

What advantage is gained by having red light cameras show up first in the list?

A Preference

Just a habit I suppose, it enables me to quickly review cameras that are close to me and be more cautious. We all know how unfair these cameras can be at times.
