Greetings all,

This site is awesome! I found alot of usefull info to help me with my 3225. One of the things that I can't find info on, is the installation of the icons and mp3 files to the red camera poi. I did notice in the faq that mp3 is not supported, is there a work around?

I was wondering if it causes a problem if my wife leaves the roadmate in the car in sub zero temperatures. She has had a couple of instance where she received a message that it was too cold to operate when powering on, but it works after a few moments. My question is, can it be damaged from the cold weather if exposed too long?

When i received my GPS the POI CD did not work properly, i didn't think much of it at the time. Now that i found this site i would like to add custom POI onto my GPS. Does anyone know where i can download the POI File editor for the Roadmate 760? The cd that came with my device says v1.07

I just bought a Maestro 3200 and have not seen to much about it anywhere.

Did I make a good buy?
Can I add maps?
Can I add POI?

I'm having a hard time getting the Icons to show up using the Magellan POI File Editor.. Is this even possible to do with the RM 760?

Now that I have downloaded some POI's I was very excited to put my Roadmate 2200T to the test. So I Went to my Downloaded POI's and selected the nearest barnes & Noble.

To my supprise it pulled up all of the barnes and noble. Thus I had no way of choosing the correct Barnes & Noble that is nearest to my location.

I spent hours with this thing. I got the Red Light file which is a .csv. I converted to a .mgln file.

The GPS sees it, when I try to load it it says "ERROR OPENING FILE"

I read here about Magellan's being picky about names and being unique....

So I deleted every name except the first line to see if this would work since it's unique name (ONLY NAME!) It still says the same.

I have read the comments in the various folders. I have tried using all of the suggestions that were given and still I have not luck in loading the poi's to my 2200t. The Magellan roadmate tool keeps telling me, "no unit detected."

Some body, Please help me if you can. I have spent hours and days trying to solve my problem and still I have had no success.

Forgive me, this maybe a dumb question... I am so new to this but looks like i have a new hobby...

What is the difference between a .csv and a .poi file? I noticed my Magellan 3225 have .poi files but many of the discussions here
are about .csv files....

I was tinkering with my 3225, changed the background picsture. Re-set it. locked it up. cant get it back up and running. finally i after a power cycle I got this message.

but I cant get USB access to the internal mem to reinstall the old system stuff. So my only other option is using the reset/power trick to get this screen.

I'm a new owner of my first GPS. (Literally 3 hours ago).

I was wondering about the battery on these GPS. What happens when battery dies? I assume you cannot visit your local Radio Shack and replace it yourself????

Hey;i recently bought a Magellan Maestro 3200 and well so far my experience has not been very pleasant,since the POI in the GPS are very limited(only 1.3 million)i have been doing some research about how to add more POI to it and well, I found you guys!!!the problem is tht my gps does not come with a usb cable and the SD slot is useless,What can i do???Any ideas???

I used to have Maestro 4050, and although I liked many of its features that Garmins more expensive Nuvis lack, I returned it because of two very annoying issues: when it had to recalculate, it showed progress bar, but no map, and with many custom pois loaded it kept periodically freezing and needed to be rebooted, or rebooted itself. They addressed both problems in the 4250.

I have the following: Tom Tom Navigator, Garmin, Magellan 360 and, now, Google maps / GPS.

Can anyone post a review or comment on this product.

I recently purchased a MM 3225 from Costco for $179.99. For the money it is a good unit, it supports TTS and have a nice bright screen. I replaced the 1.3 million POI with 6 million POI.

I've been looking at and have used a borrowed Garmin Nuvi 200. Easy to use, pretty accurate, a really nice, no non-sense unit all around. Up until this morning I was set on buying one. But it doesn't have the ability to route, at least not easily. It also doesn't have a good off road capability. We're day hikers and that would be a nice to have item.

FWIW, I haven't seen discussion of this *anywhere*, so I am posting it here.

I have successfully loaded a redlight camera POI file and the alarms do work.

Has anyone else done this on a Magellan unit?
