bricked the GPS, backed it up first tho, how do I reinstall?

I was tinkering with my 3225, changed the background picsture. Re-set it. locked it up. cant get it back up and running. finally i after a power cycle I got this message.

but I cant get USB access to the internal mem to reinstall the old system stuff. So my only other option is using the reset/power trick to get this screen.

Any luck. I did the same to
