Does anyone know how to add red light cameras and other POI's to the Magellan 4770? I called Magellan and the tech told me that No one is sanctioned by Magellan at this time and if I did download a red light camera database and the Magellan quit working, the warranty would be void. I have a Garmin 1390 and all downloads seem to be flawless.

Is there anywhere that I can get European maps for a Roadmate 2200T?

Anyone have a sense when the next map update will be out? Do we have to wait until next spring?

I am interested in using some of the custom POI files listed on this site. However, I have been unsuccessful finding any software to interface with my Roadmate 1470 or software to convert from Garmin file formats. Most of the files I have looked at are .csv format. There was no POI Editor Software included with this device. Any help or guidance is appreciated.

I purchased the Spring 2009 map update and installed it in my Maestro 3250. Now when I start my car, after the warning screen goes away the main menu displays. Before the map would be displayed after the warning screen. I would not have to select show map.

Anyone else having this happen or know of a fix for it?

I've created several custom POI files. Can only one POI file be loaded at one time in the GPS? I reached the 10,000 max on one file so created a second POI file. Is there a way to load both POI's at the same time?

Hi, I'm new to the forum, having just bought a Roadmate 1412. My map version is 31, and I understand that Magellan will update to the latest version within 30 days of purchase. Can anyone tell me what the latest map update is? The Magellan website doesn't seem to be of much help. They mention Spring 2009, but it doesn't say what version number that is.

I have a problem when I try and update my firmware. I have downloaded the update and run it as instructed. I get to the point of hooking up the gps to the usb port. The gps trys to install as a video controller and will not install correctly. When I run the update software the program does not find the gps.

Can anyone give me some insite as to how to correct this problem.

I bought a used RoadMate 3000T about a month ago so I'm still a nooby.

There are a series of turns to get to my home in the neighborhood.

When I enter an address, the GPS takes me out of the neighborhood in one direction, but it brings me back on a different route on the return trip.

It doesn't matter if I chose shortest time or shortest distance.

Is this normal?

I live in NYC and I have the luxury/good fortune of not traveling during rush hour. I'd like to be able to avoid tools where possible (at 5.50 a pop, it can add up). So far my 1340 and the 1212 I owned prior to it seems to ignore the "avoid tolls" setting unless I select the option for least use of freeways.

I am fairly new to the gps world. Recently, I researched different gps products to find something that fit what I wanted. I wanted to have street maps, trail maps and lake maps. I wanted it to have a touch screen and a long battery life. What I came up with was the Magellan Crossover. I found one on E-bay that the seller said was taken out of the box but never used.

Help! My 1412 startup screen suddenly shows a white background with a serial # input screen. When I input my unit's s/n, the gps won't accept it and I have been "stuck" on that screen for 2 weeks now. Magellan has tried to troubleshoot it unsuccessfully over the phone. I get a message on the 1412 saying "Please Insert MGNSHELL Card" Any ideas?????

A friend just gave me a b&w Meridian Gold GPS unit that he no longer used (he has a newer color model).

I am trying to get familiar with it and have a couple questions.

1. The installed firmware is Rev. 5.40 Oct 14 2004. From what I could find on the Magellan website, this appears to be the latest version. Does anyone know if that is correct?
