Map/POI update, Maestro 4000 series ??

Great site. Should be POI Factory/GPS Forums !!

Came here to get additional POI files and got side-tracked reading all the other good info. and links.

Still haven't tried a custom POI file but other questions came up..........

With the new 4000 series (I have a 4000), when the time comes for a map and/or POI update, how will it be delivered. Is that part of a "software" update, such that firmware, map and POI ALL come together?

Is it possible to "upgrade" the 4000 with the 4.5M POI file that the higher models use?

I have looked a LOT of places and don't see an answer.

I foiund the same issue

Do they give mapupdates together with the firmware or are the separate purchase...Can you get european maps?

Almost 2 months after posting my original question, still no response......and I haven't found any information elswhere either.

I guess nobody knows.

Although they don't know much, Magellan might give you the right answer about the "foreign" maps. I would think so since they are a European company.
