4040 POI

I am trying to add my POI's to the POI manager so I can up/download? them into my mag4040 and It will not take the address I have from this site of a negative number.. it keep saying I must add a number between 0 and 90 the numbers are -81.5766 and 28.34617.
In case you can't tell I am VERY new to this (first post and first day on this site)

Recognotion problems

Read the suggestions about converting a POI file to a .mgln file. I did that, loaded it onto an SD disk. The Crossover GPS says there are no filesmfrom the disk and my computer doesn't seem to recognize the GPS when plugged into the USB. Any suggestions?

External Antenna for the Magellan 3225?

Anyone using an external antenna on their 3225? It has the jack on the back, but I find none listed in the accessories at the Magellan site.

If you are using one, what are you using? What's your experience with it?

I'm looking to expand my mounting options.

Thanks

CrossOver and redlight POI

Ok I am sorry if this have been asked before, I download the redlight POI file and used the editor to convert it, I then used the Magellan tools to copy it to my crossover. I then went to Nav> POI> enhanced and selected the file. I then took a drive to a known redlight site in PA and it did not work. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Rest Areas

I travel from Washington, DC to Gastonia, NC, using a "new" Magellan 4250 Maestro. I am trying to list each Rest Area and each (known) Speed Trap, along with the Latitude and Longitude for each.

MicroSoft Street & Trips

Hi All
Is there any way I can get the USB driver for my Magellan 3225 as I would like to use it with MS St & Trps. It does not detect my GPS as it only sees a Serial port and all GPS these days are USB.
Thanks

Red Light POI ?

I've got a 4250 and am trying to better understand the unit. My question is: to use the "Red Light" POI's do you you have to be traveling to a destination (route), or will they alarm if you are just in the "map mode", by just driving past one without a destination set.

POI File Editor Problems Roadmate2200T

I am brand new to the world of GPS. My initial elation at unwrapping my roadmate2200 quickly wore off when I realized the multiple step process to load a POI. After reading many of the post here and at other forums I have one major problem. My POI Editing software would not load from the disk and I am unable to find the program at the Magellan website.

POI files convert your 1.3 mil to a 6 mil poi

google "hacking the 3200 to 6 million poi"
you will find files to upgrade from 1.3 (or is it 1.6?) POI to 6 million POI.

Custom POI

Hi
I have downloaded a lot POIs on my 3225 and according to documentation I have to enable one perticular POI. My question is say I have enabled "Pizza Pizza" and I am passsing in the red light camera zone will my GPS warn me or not?
Thanks in advance for the responses

Why Are Maestros Unable To Show Marine Data?

Hi all, I know that Maestros are not marketed to do the job of something like a handheld marine unit, etc, but I was wondering why they, in theory, couldn't be re-loaded with marine versions of the software?

Display problems

To say that I'm a little disappointed is an under statement. Had a Roadmate 800; had the screen display go bonkers for no apparent reason. Fired it up one morning and the display was completely garbled. Contacted Magellan and they replaced it with a brand new Maestro 4210. Received the unit last week Thursday. This morning I fired up the new unit for my daily trek to work.

Maestro can't read SD Card

I tried to upload a file from another forum that had been successful for other users to an SD card and programmed my GPS to read the POI's off the card. Now my maestro can't find the SD card. I've tried restarting but when I try to pull up POI's it says there is no SD card. Any help would be great.
