Magellan Maestro 3225

I recently purchased a MM 3225 from Costco for $179.99. For the money it is a good unit, it supports TTS and have a nice bright screen. I replaced the 1.3 million POI with 6 million POI.
One thing that I am puzzled is that when I insert a SD card into the GPSr and connect it to my PC, the SD card is not seen. The PC sees the GPSr labelled as TFAT with subfolders. I am able to perform backup to the SD card from the GPSr interface. The SD card is format as FAT32. I tried formating to FAT16 but same result. I would prefer to download custom POI to the SD card rather than main memory. There is about 800MB available from main memory. Custom POI placed on the unit are located in /USR/CPOI.
Only thing I can think of is this model does not support custom POI on SD card even though the user manual says it does.
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

POI files on SD card

To obtain POIs from SD card on Magellan 3225 try the following:
(Note: While converting with editor make sure you have Latitude, Longitude and Name in correct columns)

Select: POI Enhanced

Select: Change my POI file

Select: Select POI file

(Then select file from external memory)
Then press arrow pointing to the left

Select: Catagory
(My catagory was just default)

Select: Nearest
(Note: I did not format my SD Card)

POI files on SD card

Jeff,

I forgot to ask what computer system are you using, XP, Apple, etc? Also my SD card was brand new so it might have been pre-formatted or my system (XP) formatted it when I stuck it in my card reader.

Jim, I'm using XP

Jim,

I'm using XP Professional. Thanks to your tip, I was able to get the M3225 to read from SD card for custom POI's. But, I have to load the SD card through a SD card reader as when the M3225 is connected to my PC it does not see the SD card, just the M3225 memory and folders.
