SOX.EXE Version That Works - 14.0.1
The SOX.EXE version that I know works on my Windows XP Pro SP3 PC with POI Loader version 2.5.2 is:
1,672KB(1,712,128bytes) Created Tuesdsy, January 29, 2008, 8:59:34 PM
I found that information by navigating to the file using My Computer and then right-clicking on the SOX.EXE file and selecting at Properties.

Security Location in 2D or 3D?
My Nuvi 260 arrives Monday; It is my 2nd GPS, but my first "ground" unit. My other one is an Aviation GPS...
I've been reading a lot of posts here, including the threads on the Security Location feature, the usefulness of the feature and the best locations to use for setting this on one's unit.

Show only Specific POIs
Hi,
Just got a garmin nuvi 200. Still trying to get used to it.
I was wondering if there is a way to show only a certain category of POIs on the map. I've searching for hours, but haven't found how to set this up.
I am mostly interested in showing gas stations ONLY. I could care less about the other 5.9 million POIs during my daily commute.

Lock on Satellite Still or Moving
-- Since the 21 GPS satellites are not in synchronous orbit 11,000 miles above the earth (they don't stay in relatively one position all the time),
-- and since they are not even synchronous with each other,
-- and a spot on the earth is constantly moving (probably at a high velocity) as the earth spins and travels through space,

customize audio turn notification?
Is there any way to slightly extend the amount of distance the audio turn notifications are provided? My nuvi 350 sometimes tells me to turn at the last minute - to the point that there is no way to prepare for the turn. Sure this woudn't be much of a problem if I had one of those dash board holder thingies - but for right now my nuvi site in the passenger seat.

Replacement GPS recommendations
I will be getting a replacement for my Garmin 550c sometime soon. I may even get another 550. I have a few considerations, but I would like recommendations from the pros.

Good hard case for the Nuvi 760?
I am probably going to start traveling with my nuvi 760. Is there a good hard case I can get for it? The beer kuzi probably won't cut it anymore for a case

Seeing POI on screen of 200w
I have a 200W and can not see any POI on screen while I am driving. I read somewhere that you have to be in 2D mode and zoomed in quite a bit. But, even then, I don't see any. If I touch the map and drag to a new location, the POI all show on screen, but if I select one it tries to direct me to that location. Am I doing something wrong?! Thanks!

Changes made from version 2.60 to 2.70:
Improve distance calculation in odometer.
Fix system freeze issue.
Fix shutdown issue when browse detail map.
Correct user grid.
Disable route calculation icon when GPS is off.

Truck Routes
It would be really helpful if Canadian and US truck routes were marked.
(and maybe the more flirtatious truck stop waitresses?)
Also places like malls and big box retailers who allow us to park for an hour or two.

when do bmp's show up on garmins?
I am just curious, I have loaded some csv files successfully with the associated bmp files onto my garmin nuvi 350. The only problem is I'd like to see them in the map mode when it's navigating to it instead of only when I look up the custom poi and then click "Map".

Emergency Vehicle Mode: Is this the only way to route along part-time roads?
In the Washington DC area, there are many roads that change configuration at various times of day. For instance, Interstate 66 in Virginia inside the beltway is HOV-3 during rush hours, Beach Drive in DC is closed on weekends, and Research Road between Beltsville and Greenbelt, Maryland closes at 6pm weekdays.

built-in POI's on a Garmin 260W
Anyone find any answers on this? I can't even find my built-in icons when in "MAP" or navagation. I can only see them if I pan the map. Then when I go back to "MAP" there gone again???? I've tried 2D and zoom.....WAZUP???? I'd like to try to load some custom POI's but....GEEE I'd like to master this obsticle first. Can anyone help or direct me to a thread. I've tried to no avail to find one.

Do you enable Traffic avoidence?
I disable mine, its annoying it keeps recalculating to take local, or service road, not realising theres traffic there as well, as it only reports highways, and main roads.
It also messes up my arrival time, thinking its avoiding traffic, I like to see a realistic arrival time, its usually pretty good, been getting better, it used to be very off (traffic time).
Birthday gift
My granddaughter is turning 16 next month and is getting her drivers license in Washington State. We are getting her a GPS preferably a Garmin. I am wondering what model would be the best for her considering she does need to have blue tooth capability because the State requires hands free cell phone use.
Would appreciate some suggestions from you all.
