Can anyone tell me why, when I enter a new location, the resulting list of cities appears to be unsorted and displayed in a completely random fashion?
For example, entering Boston results in a list of cities named Boston in multiple states where the states are neither alphabetized nor sorted in increasing distance from my current location. When I am in Beverly, MA and want to find a POI in Boston, MA, why do I have to sort through pages of Bostons where Boston, WA is listed before Boston, MA or where Boston, MA might be at the very end of the list?
Thanks,
Irish
.
No one (other than perhaps Garmin) seems to know why it's like that. But it just is.
It doesn't make much sense how they are listed.
A solution that has worked for me...
Maybe you need to just pack everything up and move to Indiana in the middle of the night. It certainly has worked for me.

It works the same on the 2820, only a software engineer at Garmin might be able to give you the answer. It is somewhat annoying.

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
Some Past Observations and Theories...

For more on Garmin's "Alphabetical Mysterious" order,
see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/13516 The thread has some community observations and theories.

The short answer (as MM already said) is that only Garmin knows for sure...
