750 Cradle and 2.5 port on the side?

The cradle for the 750, and probably the same for the 8xx's, on the left side of it, there is a hole which is 2.5 in size because a jack for a cell phone headset snaps in it perfect but does nothing. Does anyone know what that port is for?

Yes, it's a mic jack.
External Microphone
That's a microphone input jack. Garmin sells a microphone that can be used with it.
Port on cradle left
I bought the Garmin microphone for my 760 and ran the wire up to drivers visor.When I use bluetooth phone this works very well.Also use an ipod audio cable to my stereo auxilary port,all goes thru my stereo. Sound is very good.

When we tried blue tooth with my 765t, nobody could hear us talking clearly.
Since I've had one of the last phones on the planet w/o blue tooth, this hasn't been a priority to fix. Next month I will be upgrading to a phone with Blue tooth. (I originally tested the feature w/ a friends phone.)
