Arrival time vs Speed Indication

When my nuvi 680 gps is on the map screen but not navigating my current speed is displayed on the lower right hand corner. When I am navigating then the ETA is displayed. I would much rather have the speed displayed during navigation as my old speedometer does work all that well. Is it possible to change this setting? How?

The arrival time isn't much good because I don't have a clock so I don't know the current time. I know I can go to the Trip meter screen but I would like to stay on the map screen

I have a screen shot that may explain it better then my writtian word on a blog created for this pupose only.

Unfortunately, it's not currently customizable.

I wish it were.

The new 2x5T and 7x5T series

will have the speed, arrival time, and next turn displayed on the screen, all at the same time.
These models should be available sometime in October.

I am not buying a new gps anytime soon

I wanted to know if there is a way to customize my nuvi 680 not buy another one. I just bought this one in july and it works well just thought it would suit me better with the speed instead of arrival time.

Anyway thanks for taking note.

I've got one of those as well and I just love it. It's improved my gas, or should I say diesel mileage quite a bit. - Yes, I've got a diesel.

And no, I do not work for scangauge, either.

No it won't work for my truck it is too old but I have something similar that is stock in our van we use for family vactions that works great. I doesn't have the scan tools but the DTE and MPG avg. and instanteous.
