Garmin 770 with Euro Maps

I was planning on purchasing the Garmin 770 and found out that it has the Euro maps included. For future map purchased, do you have to purchase the US and Euro maps separately. If you buy the Euro maps, do you get the new US maps with it?
I know that I will not be going back to Europe soon but would want to keep the US maps updated. You thoughts anyone.

Since my 760 bit the dust (complements of version 4.0) I have decided to return it, and I have ordered a 770. The maps are normally loaded together as one file, so if it comes with the 2008 maps can it be updated to the 2009 maps for the US? Or are there two updates? If I don't get the answer here, I'll find out when it arrives... shock

There are to be three map sets in the garmin folder.
One is the base map (gmapbmap.img, the other two (gmapprom.img & gmapprom1.img) I would assume are the North America map and the European map. The unit came with North America 2009 and Europe 2008 installed, so I don't need to worry about an update. The firmware that is installed is version 3.2 which I am not familiar with and haven't seen it anywhere else. It wasn't on the Garmin site when I last checked, nor was it on perry's site... I guess I'll see if I have any problems with 3.2 before I ever use future firmware upgrades....

The 770 has 4 gigs of internal memory vs my 760's 2 gig.

My 670 also has 4GB storage

I didn't know models without Europe have only 2GB. My 670 comes with 4GB. I paid about $30 extra for this, just in case we will have a trip there.
As I could recalled, map updates are separate, and you have to pay both.
