Did anyone else have a problem a few weeks ago with their traffic receiver crapping out?

Love my new Garmin 660. But, was curious... when I click on the EXTRAS icon/button on the Garmin - it tells me 'No Extras Are Installed' and sends me over to the /extras URL at the main Garmin web site.

But what 'Extras' can I actually install from this site to my model 660? Sorry, but I'm new to all this. I see some 'Games' there but none appear to be compatible with my 660.

Is there a hard and fast rule for entering road numbers in the Nuvi 7xx series?

I have been scrolling around checking the site out.

I just bought a Garmin C550 yesterday. Any helpful hints or tips I should be aware of?

I'm a newbie with a GPS, so don't be afraid to tell me something basic.

It would appear that I had Map 2009 installed on my unit when I registered it yesterday. Hopefully that's right.

How frequent does this site update the red light camera database?

Where does the information come from?

Anyone have any files for Hilton Head?

For anyone who is having trouble or just wonders how to load a POI file to there gps this may be helpful.

I have searched the site and did not find a post for this "how to" but it may be somewhere..

First have all of the files to be loaded in one folder i.e. (My POIs)

Have the folder some place you can locate it easily.

Next make sure the files are named identically.

I have been in touch with Garmin Tech Support several times and still don't have answers to my questions regarding the SD card. I have loaded waypoints from MapSource onto my SD card but I am unable to see the SD card on my Nuvi 680? How do I locate the SD card on the unit?

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I tried to use POI Loader to install some POI files I've downloaded from here, but I can't see them on the map after I've installed them. Did I do something wrong? I tried searching the forum before I posted. Sorry if there's already a post about this. Thanks

I have an mp3 alert file that I made for Skyline Chili Restaurants that I thought I would upload to add to the Skyline POI area but I can't figure out how to do it. I tried using the poi uploader but that only works for poi and gpx file extentions.

I am new to the Garmin world but am surprised to see how little extra hacks there are to run on the nuvi. I brought a sansa mp3 player a couple of months back and was pleasantly surprised to find a program call rockbox that turned the unit into a dual boot device. The software added a better video/mp3 player and many games.

I'm a new Nuvi 660 user and really like it so far. We leave for 19 days in Scotland tomorrow and we're taking our Nuvi. I've got the UK maps on SD card and I've listed as favorites all the B & B's we're due to stay at. I"ve downloaded some POI's of castles, distilleries, etc.

I have two questions I am tring to answer.
1- How do I get a POI to alert when it is not on the exact route I am following. Example if I have Costco as a POI but it is 2 blocks north, and I have set the prox alert to 5000 ft, it will not alert. If I am on the street that costco is on it will alert.

If im seeing things right, which doesn't always happen, the 2009 map is out for the Garmin. I was told by the salesman, that I should receive the 2009 map update @ no charge since the Nuvi 200W that I purchased has 2008. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that? I have sent an email to Garmin support and well.....their response time seems to be a little slow.

OK, i have noticed an odd thing with the c 580 when you are playing the MP3 player and have the maps up guideing you too where you want to go the map refresh is real slow , has anyone else had this issue?

After the update to the 2009 maps I notice that on my 660 that towns are now yellow if and if your outside of the city limits they turn white like it used to be. Is this a new feature on the "higher end" models? I know two people tho have the NUVI 200's and theirs didn't turn yellow after the 09 update.

I was just experimenting with CSV files to see if I could make them directional.

Can be done on divided hiways and Interstates where the NUVI map shows 2 separate lanes for the road.

When I go to Mapquest and try to load directions onto my nuvi 350 the wrong serial number comes up. It will say that I have successfully sent the waypoints to the following devices and it will say Nuvi (unit id and then a number not at all close to mine.
