Will this wall charger work for the Garmin c530 I just bought?

It's rated at 500MA, and there's also one at 300MA. I don't know which one to get...

Thanks for your help!

I used a blackberry charger on a c550
It charged it just fine with one problem. When I disconnected the charger the c550 was frozen, I could not shut it off.
The reset fixed it up, but since then I discovered that after I disconnect it if I hook it to my pc all will be well.
Sooo I don't think using a wall charger is a good option unless it's the only option. At least that's my experience.
I just checked Garmin's site, their wall charger has a cigarette/power type end on it that you use in conjunction with the auto power adapter that comes with the unit... So it doesn't plug into the usb port.
And I see that's what you were asking about..

That's what I saw too, then
That's what I saw too, then started looking elsewhere. That All Electronics site has it for MUCH cheaper. I just don't know which of the two would work. Or would they both be just fine? 500MA vs. 300MA. Would that be enough difference in juice to zap the c530?
Jeff
Probably either
The unit will use what it needs or can get.. I doubt if it even needs 300ma. Any EEs aboard?

I am certainly not an electrical engineer but what you say is essentially true. The 300ma is the maximum it can support. If the unit pulls 100ma, that is all that will flow. I believe a standard USB port will provide a maximum of 500ma (.5A) so an adapter that allows that will not let you down.
A/C adapter for the Garmin C530
I bought a Garmin-brand A/C adapter that's made for the C530. I'm way too conservative to even think about plugging in my GPSr into an unknown recepticle to see if it'll work. The way I look at it, if my A/C adapter electrocutes my GPSr, at least I may have some recourse at getting it fixed. Hey, but that's just me.
BTW, here's the link to where I got the adapter:
