Ok I'm new at this, I drive a big truck and I just got the Garmin Nuvi 350 I have been using Microsofts streets and trips for almost 2 years but decided to try a real GPS I was going to wait and spend the money on a GPS ment for big trucks but was told by several other drivers that you can select truck as an option on most new GPS's and it will give you the truck route.

I have a garmin Ique and in order to import the data I import into the palm addresses. But there there but I cant "search" and find them.

Correct the Ique cant use anything but address book?
Also will I get a little Icon on my map for things imported?

I posted this under the 2009 MAP UPDATES thread and it seemed to get lost (sorry for a duplicate post). This site has been a wealth of information and I'll bet there is someone who knows the answer to the following questions --

I recently purchased a nuvi 760 and I've had some problems.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same.

1. Frequent lock-ups. Screen locks and will not accept screen taps. Have to power cycle to get it going again.

2.Problems with MP3 player. While scrolling through songs, nuvi powers off.

Okay, probably a silly question but I can't figure it out. I have a Garmin 260w and want to see the .bmp icons. Now, from what I read I need to have the map set to 200' view. How do I know if I am set at that view? Where is that info?

Some of the custom csv files that I uploaded to my nuvi 780 don't show all the data - only the place name, the mileage, and the direction.

Yet when I look at the csv file with Excel or Notepad, the fourth column often includes street, town and phone number. Why isn't this additional data showing up on my nuvi screen when I invoke that custom POI?

i have about 35 non vehicle .srf available that i would like to share with the group (some i collected & some i modified to meet my needs)
how would i make these available to POI_Factory members ?

any one have any ideas why Google can't find my nuvi 260w, i have google earth plus

I want to arrange my POI's as an example below.

MY POI ==> List of different POI's as sub categories.

I downloaded a poi for San Diego Attractions. In the csv file there is a location for The Gas Lamp district but it doesnt show up in my unit. However, I can do a search for it and it will show up. I can view 50 out of the 140 locations in the file. Why?

Has anyone gained experience with Garmin's Vehicle Integration Box (VIB)?

Seems like a good work-around for the Nuvi 760's FM transmitter - if it's installed and works properly.

Is it possible and/or do any of you know a way of changing (increasing) map refresh rate on a Nuvi? It seems to be about 1 fps.I heard the new Nuvi 250 line will refresh at 4 fps or Is there a comparison chart that shows the refresh rates of various models?

What do I do when my GPS (260W) is unable to locate a satellite? I gave up after 10 minutes, ansd shut it down. I restarted, but situation did not change. The picture on my map was the car'socation when I selected a via point anbout 3 hours earlier, at which point I turned off the GPS. It was when I restarted it and selected a new destination with Where To that the problem arose.

I installed the traffic cam POI and sometimes I get warnings that cover the entire screen and other times I get warnings that are small little red "boxes" at the top of the map that don't cover the screen.

This for for those with compatible NUVIs.

There are multiple ways to build routes using MapSource.

1. One is to use only a start point and end point.

2. Another is to build waypoints and then let MapSource make a route from them.

3. Way 3 is to use the "Rubber Band" method.

And there are probably more.

Has anybody installed voices from pig tones for a Street Pilot 350. I am intrigued by the voices, but worried about it locking up my unit.

I have recently bought a SD-card with additional maps for my Nüvi 760. The unit is reading the card without any problems and I can see the new maps on the screen. The unit can however not find any single address on the new card / maps when I try to get directions. When I try the same SD-card in my Nüvi 770 I don't have any problems at all - Does anybody have an idea what could be the problem?

So I'm going to get a nuvi 360 with a 4GB sandisk SD card soon. I know that you can put JPEG images and mp3 musics into the card, but can you also put map .IMG files into the card and get it to load into the nuvi?
Because I'm planning to update to the NT 2009 map but also would like to keep the old map as well.
