Garmin talk

I think my 760 went drinking without me yesterday. For some reason, it showed me going in correct direction, but I showed me traveling about 1 street over to the left, which was out of line. I turned the unit off for about 10 seconds, then turned it back on and it seemed to have corrected itself. Any idea what may have happened. My 11 yr old daughter got a kick out of it, though.

My handsfree bluetooth displays my name and number when paired to my blackberry. However my blackberry is programmed not to show this information. I don't want this information to show on my Nuvi. Any suggestions would bemost helpful

I have a Nuvi 760, and it's a nice feature that the music icon appears on the map page,
so you can switch back and forth easily between the two.
But how do you turn off the music icon when you don't want to listen to music anymore?

I've hit the stop/pause button in the MP3 player, yet the icon still shows on the map screen. So far the only way I can get it off is to cycle power.

does anyone have experince with the GeePeeEx Editor ?
i own a nuvi 760 & 680 and wondering if it benefit me to use this program. i normally use google map / send to Gps

hi i was wondering if you can delete or remove TEXT VOICES from the darmin 260w folder. i wanted to delete some text voices to make roon on the hard drive to download TTS voices. thank you

HI am new to GPS and was wondering if folks out there can point me in the right direction.

I'd like to see about taking a E911 Map of my county and then making it available someway on my GPS or a higher end GPS.

For example .... my county has a County Road 5 which shows on the GPS as CR-5 but in E911 terms it is like 151st Street.

I am new to POI and GPS.

I have a low end unit and I noticed today while driving through my town that the street names didn't appear.

I didn't have a course routed but just had it set to Map and was driving around.

The other day I drove around and they all showed so I'm not sure if I changed a setting or something or what.

Any advice?

I have a .wav file for one of my custom poi's. I'm wondering how do I convert it to a .mp3 so I can instal lit on my unit so it is associated with a custom poi.

I received my new Nuvi 760 from Costco yesterday and had a problem with some software updates. I finally got the unit registered using my wife's computer (Vista) during my 180 minute wait, but it said I had to pay $69.99 to update to 2009 maps from the 2008 maps installed.

I was just on Amazon and they now show the 205 + 255 in stock. Price 205=$180.47...255=$267.04.

i went to Walmart and found in the women's bag department this wallet with a belt loop in the back and the front gas a snap closure- fits great for the nuvi 680 & 760 only $9.96

I just last night loaded red light cameras to my 680, and this morning I discovered it shows small Grey dot, but not an icon, and no warning audible massage. I loaded all to gpx file, and rename them the same. Please advise how to fix it.

I am new to the POI Factory and am looking for some knowledge. Is there any way to add a street to the database or do you just have to wait for the update to include it? My street has existed for over five years and it was not on the Garmin update for 2009.

I have a nuvi 760 with 3.0 and 2009 maps. It's been working fine, both as a GPS unit and MP3 player with SD card, for about 1 month. That is, until 2 days ago when I started getting this message everytime I power it up: "New Extras data found on card. Would you like to install this data so that it will be available if the card is removed?"

I believe I've come across a bug when searching "Search Near" "My Current Route".

Can anyone else confirm the same behavior?
(by the way, I have software version 3.00)

To reproduce the problem you would first enter a destination, and let nuvi calculate the route, then do "Where To?", "Near...", "Select: My Current Route", OK, and select POIs that you would have more than 4 along your route.

After displaying the first page (four entries), and scrolling down to see the next page, the distance and orientation for the next page gets updated, but the names of POIs remain fixed with those from the first page.

My Nuvi 360 came preloaded with a 2008 NT map, and I don't want to mess around or delete anything in it. Now I can update to the free NT 2009 map but in the process it'll overwrite the 2008 map and also will update the unit's firmware to the lastest one which I don't want.

I recently bought a Garmin 260W. The specs state that it has a limit of 500 Waypoints/favorites/locations. The 260W can only have 1 waypoint on an active route. It can't store route waypoints. And I've already loaded 2000 custom POIs onto it. It will display all of them as they move into proximity of the GPS. Of course, only 52 of the nearest show up on the Go To Extras file.

So what's the 500 location limit apply to? I've asked the experts at Garmin and their reply was nonsense: "Yes you are right." they told me.

I just bought a nuvi 260W and I'm very ignorant of the lingo. I need help. Let's start with what's a POI Loader?
