MPEG-4 audio

How do I get an MPEG-4 audio file to play on my Nuvi 750?

mp3 only

The latest Garmin FAQ says it only plays files with the .mp3 extension. If you have other types of audio files, .wav, .m4a, and so on, you can use different programs to try and transcode them to the .mp3 format.

As an example, iTunes (on mac or windows) will let you convert files (except for protected .mp4 files) to .mp3 files. You can then move the .mp3 files to your nuvi, or to an SD card.

Note that taking an already compressed file and transcoding it to another compressed format is a lot like re-grinding hamburger -- things are not going to get better!
