I might have had this problem with my Street Pilot 2820 after an update.

As I recall (and this might be inacurate) I used the Garmin Webupdater again to re-install the bluetooth update. The next time I turn the GPS on after the re-installation, it did the update through 100% and all was well.

My 760 just did that

I came out of a restaurant and turned my 760 on and when it booted it said it was installing a Bluetooth update with a progress counter of 0%. It sat there for a few minutes with no progress, so I just turned it off and rebooted. I have not had my 760 connected to the computer in over a week, so there is obviously no WebUpdater type of accidental software installation issue here.

so far my 760 bluetooth

so far my 760 bluetooth works fine but i use it alot. i hope we find an answer to this problem soon.

My 760 Bluetooth has been fine, too

I have had no problems at all with my 760 Bluetooth and Blackberry. And I use it almost every day. I've had the 760 since June and this was the first time that it had done the "Updating Bluetooth" thing. I could deal with that once every 3 months without getting upset about it.

Garmin's response to the "phantom bluetooth" updating

Got this response to the phantom "updating bluetooth" message that pops up every now and then:

As to the Bluetooth, I would like you to connect your unit to your computer, then open up My computer. The Nuvi should show up as its own drive, double click on it to open the Nuvi drive. Then open the Garmin folder. Locate the UPDATE.GCD file and delete it. After doing this disconnect the unit from your computer. If you have anymore questions or continue to have an issue with the bluetooth please feel free to contact me further.

I'll give this a try tomorrow. It will be hard to really tell if it made a difference or not, since it only does this once every month or so.
