GPX and nuvi

the 255w has a gpx directory. In this directory is one file. Is this the file I have created? or was it created by Garmin initial load?

I have removed and loaded poi files to the poi directory on the 255w, and that has worked fine. Just wanted to see if gpx is handled in the same way.

I create several poi files, like one for lodging, one for restaurants, one general things, than build on a directory on my computer, than rename the poi to match the type I started with, than copy them to the gps.

thanks for the help

The gpx file is the one

The gpx file is the one created from adding favorites to your gps.It can include more then one file.On my unit when I add additional favorites it creates another file. The gpi file located in folder poi is for the custom pois you created.

thanks, I thought that was what it was doing. I think I need to remove that one, or at least create something to go over the top of it. I believe it has old information in it.

thanks again

gpx favorite file works differently from gpi Custom POI file.

When adding Custom POIs, POI Loader writes over existing gpi file.

gpx file is a copy of your favorites stored in internal memory. Deleting gpx file, remaming / adding gpx files can produce unexpected results.
