So is the final verdict that the American text is hard-coded in the firmware and you need to switch to the British English text file to be able to change the warning text displayed when the 760 turns on?

I guess I don't understand the question. The initial splash screen can be changed to whatever you like. As far as any "warning text" I don't think it can be changed no matter what text to speech file you use. If you are referring to the actual alerts that are spoken you can use a third-party program to change what is said.

Here's How
Yes it appears that the American text is hard-coded in the firmware but this will describe how to change the text using the British text which I don't see any difference.

Ahhhhhhhhhh
Ok, now I see what's being asked. It seems pretty useless to remove the text since the screen still pops up. It doesn't seem that it would make anything faster or better. /shrug

thrak - modifying the disclaimer screen doesn't make the startup any faster. But it can make it more enjoybable. So instead of seeing a screen full of legal garbage you can change it to something funny.

Using the technique as described by ZURK does work very well. Put in your own message, it will make you feel better.
