Uploading POI to garmin

I have done it before but been a while but planning a trip to NC and wanted to add the Blue Ridge Parkway GPX file by GC0110. I run the POI loader and it tells me the 90 something POI were loaded succesfully but when I go and look I do not find them in the Extras section but the other ones I put there several months ago are. Do I have to delete those and re install all of the files together?

When you run poiloader it

When you run poiloader it overwrites the old files and replaces them with the new custom pois. You are correct that you have to load them all at one time from your computer to the gps unit.

The question now is where did the other 90 something go.Make sure your favorite list has not grown.

In POI Loader, did you

In POI Loader, did you select Garmin Device or Mapsource / Custom Folder?

If you selected one other than Garmin Device, POI Loader saved poi.gpi file to your PC. You can search PC, rename poi NEW.gpi, and copy to GPSr poi folder. I have 6 different gpi files on my Nuvi.

I am selecting send to

I am selecting send to Garmin I have tried several times with no luck... My other costum POI's are still there but not the new one I am trying to add. Now I am about 700 miles from the Parkway but I have tried to go though the near option and change my state and city but syill do not see anything.

If you are putting all the

If you are putting all the files in one main folder make sure you are following this guideline.

1.Make a folder on your computer and give it a name. Example My poi's.
2.Download the csv or gpx file and put them in that folder.
3.If you want to add a bmp or mp3. Download from site and also add to the same folder but make sure you name them the same as the file you want them to go with except the extensions.

>My pois=Main Folder
>>Dunkin Donuts.csv
>>Dunkin Donuts.mp3
>>Dunkin Donuts.bmp
>>Walmart.csv
>>Walmart.bmp
>>Walmart.mp3

4.Hook the gps up to computer using usb cable and then run poiloader. Select My pois folder.
5.If you want alerts use manual mode instead of express.
6.You should get message so many pois are loaded at the end of the download.
7.On GPS go to where to then extras and touch custom pois and you should see them.
8.Every time you run poiloader it will overwrite the existing files.

Yes this is what I did but I

Yes this is what I did but I still only see my two original custom POI's. I even d'loaded another poi file but can't see it either. The software says though they have been uploaded succesfully but I don't understand where they are going.

Something is going very wrong, but you are not spotting it and people here are not able to give you good feedback based on "I did everything right" type of information. I suggest a small experiment to narrow in on what is going wrong:

Connect the GPS to your computer by USB and find the Garmin drive in "My computer". Open it. Then open the Garmin folder. Then open the POI folder. Then under the menu, change the view to "details" to see information about any file or files in this folder.

Now here are the questions that will help diagnose this. Do you see a poi.gpi file? You likely do, what is the date on that file? If it is today's date then we know that you are creating a new POI file in your GPS, if it's months old then we know that you are not. Also, is poi.gpi the only file in this folder? Knowing this may help us understand why you are seeing old POIs.

Seems that I was just

Seems that I was just unplugging the USB cable and looking for it. I turned the unit off after unplugging the cable then back on and they seem to be there now.
