Auto time zone change with MSN Direct

Got a pleasant surprise when traveling this weekend from Illinois into Michigan. Got a prompt from MSN Direct that we had changed time zones and did I want to update the time zone on the GPS - Yes/No? I did not know that the MSN Direct service offered that feature.

It depends on what model you have.Some you have to manually change the time zone.2x5 and 7x5 change when you enter new time zone.
After browsing the Garmin products that also includes the 8x5 and the new models they have just released.

Automatic time zone
Dosen't the GPS automatically change the time when you cross into a new time zone?
With my old Nuvi 200, I could drive from one coast to another and it would never change the time zone. Also makes the ETA a little flaky if a trip crosses into another zone.

I have a 350 and a 760, neither of which change time zones automatically. Hence the pleasant surprise when MSN did it for me.
Auto time zone
That's wierd I have the Nuvi 200 and just drove from CO to NY and the time zone switched on my unit. It was really cool I couldent figure out how the arrival time was off an hour for each of my destinations but then I realized it was calculating the time zone change.

Some Nuvi 2x0 users have reported getting some of the features of the Nuvi 2x5 units.If you go to tools,settings and time you will see a selection for Automatic.
