Does anyone know if I can upload anything to my c580 to make it useful on my boat.

I am thinking of purchasing a Nuvi 500. Does anyone know if it is compatible with Mapsource?

I loaded MP3 alerts for Rest Areas and Red Light/Speed cameras on my Nuvi 855. The alerts are sounding almost continuously until I pass the POI.

This never occurred on my C340 (without using the MP3s). One, maybe two alert beeps at most.

Whats happening?

I just purchased a new Garmin 765t about a week or so ago. We are planning a 1200 mile trip from NC to MN in 2 weeks. I went to both Google Maps, and later Mapquest to get and edit my route. I changed the route that was first calculated for me, because I wanted to avoid Chicago. After changing the route that was made for me, I downloaded it to my Garmin via USB.

How do I add alerts on my Garmin Nuvi 255W. I have the restroom POI loaded but I do not see how you add an alert.

When following a route in Ontario, I notice that my Garmin 765T routes me along the collectors when the express is available and a faster route. How do I persuade my garmin to route me along the express until i absolutely need to go onto the collectors to exit.

I just purchased a used 265W and was lucky enough to have the previous owner remove his registration. When I registered it with garmin, it was recognized as a 265WT. I searched the settings and such but found no indication of being able to receive FM traffic updates. The power cord I got does NOT have the receiver in it.

What am I looking for?

Need a little advise here on my problem I am having with my 760. The other day I had moved my beanbag mount from one vehicle back to my car.

Using my very elementary computing skills, I have managed to get custom POIs from the POI Factory inside (and operational) my Garmn nuvi 760. I did use the Garmin POI Loader for that task, and have a file folder of those waypoints and icons on my compter.

Just returned from a 2100 mile trip from Illinois to the vast plains of North Western Nebraska. Garmin took me where I wanted to go even when we went off the public roads and onto the "trails" of the Oglalla National Grasslands. Garmin worked flawlessly. Thanks Garmin.

I need help, I made a route in google earth, saved it, used Mapsourse to install to my nuvi, 765T, installed success, but now I can't find it. It saved as a route.I saved from google earth as a kml, converted to gpx.What did I do wrong?

so i noticed on the back of my 765t nuvi that there is a gold input near the lower right hand corner of the device, almost looks like an antenna connection; Problem is, I can't seem to locate any information about what this actually is or does. anyone have any clues?

For POI Loader(maybe others), the name of POI file and its icons and other resources have to match.
However, I notice that the names of the downloadable resources do not always match even when only one of each is provided. So, I have to examine and rename carefully.

Hi all,

Since the Nuvi GPS when connected to your computer, it became like another drive. You can write into it and delete from it. That meant it can possibly be infected by virus.

Do you concern about your Nuvi get infected by virus when it is connected to your computer and do you scan your Nuvi for virus once in a while?

Is there one model of Garmin Nuvi GPS that can be used (and works well) in the car for driving and in the street for biking and on the sidewalk for walking and on trails for hiking? I will be gettng another GPS soon and want to get a model that is multi-functional.

When I attach my 765T to my computer I cannot 'safely disconnect'. I click on the task bar icon, but get a message that the unit cannot be disconnected because it is in use by another program I have closed all programs.

Anyone else having this problem?

I need some help as to how I can down load my customer base which is on excel to a gps mapping system such as MapPoint 2009 or Mapsource and then choose my daily route from the contacts and then download to the GPS for the day.
MapPoint 2009 has all the features I need for the mapping system but I am not sure how to get the route downloaded to my GPS.

Got a new 765t and it shows my home on the opposite side of the street. Has all the updates including maps. Everything else seems fine. I have a 360 and compared the two on a drive last night. Both have all the latest map and software updates. I also noticed the arrival times are about 2 minutes apart on a 10 mile drive to home and as I get closer the arrival time difference get less and less.
