I lost all the favorites in my Garmin nüvi 350 due to a unit reset, and have no recent backup

I ran a file recovery utility on the GPS drive unit but couldn't find any bits of a previous current.gpx file where favorites are stored.

Has anyone faced the same problem and found a solution (better file recovery maybe) ?

Hello. I am new here. Thouth this websit say it is related to POI, I found a lot of useful issues beyond that. That's why I want to raise my question here.

Just curious, for those of you who backup your units files before doing an update or loading new maps, how many previous backups do you keep on your computer? Do you just keep the last one and delete all the previous ones? I have kept all of mine, but just checking the folder and I realized it's quite large in size.

When I used Navteq's traffic service, it was easy to determine which radio frequency my GPS was using for updates (ie 101.5, etc).

I now use MSN (much better traffic updates in Toronto). How do I view which radio frequency my GPS is receiving, to give me updates?

Can someone please advise me which Traffic provider works best in Toronto. I live in Ajax and commute along the major highways like Highway 401 etc. I have the Garmin 765T and it came with the lifetime traffic, however, I know that there is also MSN traffic and another one (i forgot the name)....does someone have experience with the various traffic providers for Garmin GPS in Toronto area?

I have another question, my SD card came formated as FAT, I want to format as either FAT32 or NTFS, will the Garmin 765T read NTFS? or should I format as FAT32?

I truly love my Garmin but every now and then something happens to make me wonder, does it love me back. Thought I would start a thread on that bases. So.....

Today I got to see a brief flash of the lane assist and then it went away. I did notice that there are more arrows shown in the top left corner to tell you what lane you ought to be in. Or maybe I didn't notice them on the 265WT.

I don't see any 3D buildings. Maybe there's something I have to enable to see them.

I notice that some POIs are only available in GPX format. I don't understand the difference between GPX and CSV. Will they both work on my Nuvi265W/

So far I have not been able to find out what the maximum number of categories for poi's are for the Zumo 550.

I have just bought a Garmin 765t. I want to add some mp3s to it. There is no mp3 folder showing up on the explorer window, nor a sub folder either. It is suppose to play mp3s, but there are none in the unit. Where do I put my own? Do I have to create a mp3 folder? If so, where?

This the zumo 660's recent firmware update changelog but note the MSN Direct v3 support as well as the ability to view cities on the main map screen (this was removed on the nuvi xx5 series)...maybe it will make a comeback on the nuvi series as well...maybe.

I don't know if I am doing this right, but as I drive around, I am not seeing my custom POI's that I installed. (The alerts that show you are close to one) Do you have to enable something or ? I have a Nuvi 765T. As you can tell I am a new user, the red light camera alerts work, didn't know we had so many in our small town

Is there a way to access history that has been deleted on the Nuvi. Any software that might me able to look at a log file or something?

Not really sure how these work if it is like a hard drive on a pc and you can still recover files even if they have been deleted and have not been written over.

is there someway to do this on the nuvi - find deleted history?

Out of the box the feel of the unit itself was different. It's rubberized matte black compared to the grainy plastic of the 265. The outer frame is shiny black plastic.

I have recently found that Google Maps has the ability to download address straight from Google maps to my Nuvi 265wt. I like this feature but if edit a route from point A to point B, Google Maps loses the ability to send it to your GPS at that point. Has anyone found an user friendly way of tricking out Google Maps?

The old problem of booting up a NUVI 8x5 in the Navigation Mode while using a non-Garmin USB Power supply, such as a Motorola cell phone usb supply, has been solved...............(workaround)

JUST POWER THE NUVI UP WITH AN NON-GARMIN WALL POWER SUPPLY AND WAIT LESS THAN 1.2 MINUTES.......
