Garmin talk

Purchase the Nuvi lifetime maps, but seem to have problem with extracting the file.
1--Downloaded the file (2 gig) in 20 minutes with success.
2--Next step is to launch the program, but nothing seems to happen or its idle and the computer freezes.

Has anyone had this problem and determined the solution?

My Garmin POI db shows a Walmart that does not exist anymore. Can it be deleted? If I do, will Garmin push it back on an update?

My Garmin maps are sadly out of date on the my Vista HC and a year out of date on the Nuvi 760. What is the best route to take to update the maps? I am badly out of the loop knowledge wise. Hope this isn't an obvious answer. Also, are there any problems with downloading the new copy of MapSource?

tried making custom speed and redlight sounds, but not working on my garmin xt (nokia n85)

I'm sure I am asking a old question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.Anyway here goes. I have a 2730 Streetpilot, when I plug it into my computer, I have the option to go to garmin mode or USB Mass Storage Mode.So when I bought my update, I have to delete old maps, then reload new maps..no problem.

I have read that you can download where you have been to a computer but I have never seen any post that tells you how you would do that? Is there a method of downloading your track to a computer?

I have a Garmin 760.

I went up north today (above the Mogollon Rim)to do some sightseeing, fishing, etc., I was pleasantly surprised to see that my Nuvi255W with City Navigator recognized all of the NF Forest roads I was on. Whenever I came to another dirt road, it would show up on the display map. Since the majority of my "offroad" travels are on NF Roads, I think I'm going sell off my Oregon.

I will be leaving for Vegas in a couple of weeks and wondering what POI files I might need as I am taking my GPS with me and renting a car for about a week.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was using the tiny Tex hexer. After I made changes to jack voice, ie volume up. I checked my 550 under spanner, lips. the only choice it gives me is american English or english.

when I hook it up to the computer. it show all the voices are their.

I have noticed that in the description of the red light camera POI There is no mention of the state of Indiana. Is it possible that this state does not have any?

I ran across this site (rudegps.com) and wanted to know if any of you guys had bought voices from them and/or what ya'll thought about them. Lookin' to purchase a voice for my Nuvi 205.

In the past I have created a number of different categories containing custom POI details, either added by downloading files from this site or by using the web based POI creators. However when I use the Garmin POILoader, it appears to add to the existing categories on the Nuvi, how do I remove them all and start again ?

Now on my second Garmin. Just purchased the 255w and live in a rural area where there is no opportunity to check the usefullness of the FM traffic feature. would love to hear from experienced users concerning reliability, availability, ease of use.

Trying to install v 2.53 and keep getting an Out of disk space error. The loader wants to default to drive F: which happens to be a cd drive. Cant believe the installer doesnt give an option to specify a destination. I really do not feel like reconfiguring my drive locations. Anyone else experience this issue?

I copied a POI file from my pc to a PNY 512MB card and inserted into my Garmin 265WT. When I turn the unit on, I cannot see where the file is. I checked in the extra section and can see nothing but my previously downloaded POI files. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to GPS units.

I just noticed that when driving on a State Highway I get in the green bar at top it tells me Im Driving on Highway S 141. But as soon as I turn on the Interstate (95) it just tells me the exits up ahead and never says the interstate im on. Is this normal ? It just doesn't seem right to me.

What does the redlight display look like on the nuvi 255W
I hear the alert and I see the BMP but I do not see anything else like flashing or change in display color.

i have a garmin nuvi 205, and i downloaded some POI's , but they havent been updated on my unit, even though the POI loader says i have downloaded it. any help on why?

We have some cameras that are not on your Camera files. If I set them in my Garmin when I go by them how do I convert them to lon and lat settings so I can send them in.
